<!--sizeo:6--><span style="font-size:24pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo--><u><b>Editing The Banner for Homebrew:</b></u>
<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec-->
This channel was made by modifying the WAD for the RIN banner channel by Paradox and Abu.

Follow these steps:
1. Put the WAD you wish to edit inside the folder named “Tools” and rename it to “in.wad”

<a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img src="http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/9897/17533128sv5.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>

2. Run the unpacker (Desempaquetador) and it will create a folder with the WAD unpacked.

<a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img src="http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/5471/65251763xf0.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>
3. Double click u8extr.exe and point it towards the 00000000.app file in the new folder created by the unpacker. It will create a new folder called 00000000_app_out.
Image:
<a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img src="http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/979/54229568kp5.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>

4. Again, in u8extr, point it towards the banner.bin file in the new 00000000_app_out. It will create a folder called banner_bin_out.
Image:
<a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img src="http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/5594/49318875ub8.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>
5. Open tplconv.exe, and click "Read image" (Leer Imagen) and find the image you wish to use for your banner (<b>IMPORTANT:</b> The image MUST be 590x332 pixels).
Image:
<a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img src="http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/1793/24569495zc6.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>

6.3. Under "U8 type" (Tipo de U8) select "U8 file signed with MD5" (Archivo U8 firmado con MD5).

6.4. Click "Create Archive" (Crear archivo) and overwrite the banner.bin file in the 00000000_app_out folder.

Image:
<a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img src="http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/3479/642yn0.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>
7. Now, click “Open File” (Abrir archivo) again, but this time select 00000000.app in the unpacked WAD folder.

7.3. Under "U8 type" (Tipo de U8) select "U8 file with Banner and with MD5" (Archivo U8 con Banner Info con MD5).

7.4. In the “channel name” (Nombre canal) text bars, you can name your channel to what ever you would like. (Do NOT touch the MD5 hash bar).

7.5. Click "Create Archive" (Crear archivo) and overwrite the 00000000.app file in the unpacked WAD folder.
Image:
<a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img src="http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/2889/75ci8.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>

8. Copy all the FILES (not folders) that are in the unpacked WAD folder (app, cert, tik, TMD, trailer) and paste them into the main folder (tools).
Image:
<a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img src="http://img374.imageshack.us/img374/9679/69838019tm2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>
9. Click the Wad Packer (Empaquetador) and you should get a file called out.wad.
Image:
<a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img src="http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/2559/20378183bd5.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>
10. Install it on the Wii through the WAD Manager.
<u><b><!--sizeo:5--><span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->
Change or remove the signatures of a banner: <!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec--></b></u>

1. Extract banner.bin with u8extr
Image:
<a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img src="http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/5594/49318875ub8.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>
2. Locate banner.brlyt file in the folder Blyt.

3. Open it in a hex editor (010 Editor for example).

4. Scroll all the way down and look at the end lines of code; you'll see a few words: ".. Banner by ...... Image By...."

5. Now change those words to what you want (<b>IMPORTANT:</b> Do not alter the dots between each letter, as this will brick the channel) and save it.
Image:
<a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img src="http://img370.imageshack.us/img370/7216/hexda1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>
6. Now, open the u8pack.exe and click “Open File” (Abrir archivo). Select the banner.bin file located in 00000000_app_out.

6.1. Highlight banner.brlyt and click "Add File" (Añadir archivo).

6.2. Select the banner.brlyt changed in step 5 and click "Yes" (Sí) to overwrite.

6.3. Under "U8 type" (Tipo de U8) select "U8 file signed with MD5" (Archivo U8 firmado con MD5).

6.4. Click "Create Archive" (Crear archivo) and overwrite the banner.bin file in the 00000000_app_out folder.

7. Now, click “Open File” (Abrir archivo) again, but this time select 00000000.app in the unpacked WAD folder.

Follow steps 7.1 through 10 for “Editing the Banner” to finish off the WAD.

<b><u><!--sizeo:5--><span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->Change the icon: <!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec--></u></b>

The same steps for changing banner.bin, but now uses the icon.bin which is in the 00000000.app

1. In u8extr extract the contents of 00000000.app

2. Again with the u8extr extract the contents of icon.bin

3. In the Timgad subfolder of the folder icon_bin_out there are 2 files to modify: IconImage.tpl which is 128x96 pixels, and LogoChan.tpl which is 112x32pixels.

4. Create two images to replace those two TPL files (<b>IMPORTANT:</b> One image MUST be 128x96pixels and the other 112x32 pixels. Faulty images will cause a permanent brick and cannot be restored without a drivechip.)

5. Perform the same steps in Step 5 of the “Editing the Banner” tutorial, only this time you have to overwrite the 2 TPL files.

6. Now, open the u8pack.exe and click “Open File” (Abrir archivo). Select the icon.bin file located in 00000000_app_out.

6.1. Highlight IconImage.tpl and click "Add File" (Añadir archivo).

6.2. Select the IconImage.tpl changed in step 5 and click "Yes" (Sí) to overwrite. (REPEAT STEPS 6.1 AND 6.2 FOR logochan.tpl!)

6.3. Under "U8 type" (Tipo de U8) select "U8 file signed with MD5" (Archivo U8 firmado con MD5).

6.4. Click "Create Archive" (Crear archivo) and overwrite the icon.bin file in the 00000000_app_out folder.

7. Now, click “Open File” (Abrir archivo) again, but this time select 00000000.app in the unpacked WAD folder.

Follow steps 7.1 through 10 for “Editing the Banner” to finish off the WAD. But instead of using the Banner.bin file, replace it with Icon.bin.
<!--sizeo:5--><span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo--><u><b>Editing the sound.bin for Custom Sounds at Channel Entrance</b></u> (NEW!)<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec-->

Error at the 4th step:
4. Again, in u8extr, point it towards the banner.bin file in the new 00000000_app_out. It will create a folder called banner_bin_out.
Image:

the program says Runtime error 6 overflow

Ah, I think where the problem is.
VC banner.bin and icon.bin are LZ77 compressed, where my banners aren't.

Get gbalzss to decompress them, and then follow the tutorial with that new file.

You need to edit banner.bin and icon.bin with a h4x editor

search for 55 AA 38 and delete evrything before it (exept the IMD5 thingy) like this image:

h4xne2.jpg
(del the selected part)

then use gbalzss (gbalzss d banner.bin banner.arc) and then use the u8tool then it wil open

When you edited the hex, did you switch it all to null (00) or did you remove it completely?

And on a side note, I'm working on editing VC banners, if I get solid steps down, I'll edit my tutorial

I did Delete it completly, just pushed delete, should i null it instead? Also i have two diff versions of gbalzss, and none worked, is there any specific version i should be looking for or somthing? or maybe you could point me in the right direction. Also, was kinda wierd, i tried all diff VC games and none worked excpet paradox's banner'd injected super smash bros. that opens up and can edit everything no problems, kinda wierd.
