Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

I would recommend awg 36 or awg 38.

By skipping backup you’re asking for trouble. Any number of things can go wrong, and having backup can help you keep your shop access (and online play) in case shit goes bad down the line. Obviously recreating nand from backup might get you banned in some cases (hello, error log mismatch), but...

You’re right. I should have re’d to the poster, not to Dee’s reply. Also, not everyone mods their switch for piracy.

Or (gosh) buy the game, rather than steal it? Then you can play wherever you want.

I’m not worried about rp2040 not lasting long. I’m worried about the effect of using 3v3 device (rp2040) to drive lines that are designed for 1v8 (the lines connecting the emmc and the apu). Maybe the hack that allows this is long term safe. And maybe it isn’t. No way to tell right now, short...

Hm, that seems mostly subjective. I’d say glitch times are about the same, the led is in my opinion matter of preference (e.g. I was always unsure about some of the colors on hwfly). No idea about the SanDisk issue. I thought the only emmc brands used are Samsung, Toshiba (kioxia) and skhynix...

Could you expand on that a bit? (Edited: because clearly you have to have some insider knowledge to make such claim)

Best of luck, mate! If you find it too difficult with the thick solder wire, try getting something like 0.25. I find it much easier to work with (less bridging etc). And if you find it too difficult with the 0.2mm magnet wire, then going to 0.1mm might make it easier still. Although on lite it...

@rehius Unfortunately upgrading to 2.64 doesn’t fix the OFW issue for my v2. Still hangs, without any logo. Any ideas as to how to debug this?

Nope. The resistor is wrong, should be 47, not 47k. And the soldering wire (if it’s soldering wire) is too thick, you’ll be happier with 0.2-0.3.

I’ve tried make the OFW work using the following: - restored known good boot0 - regenerated boot0+boot1 using emmxhaccgen - restored full backup of 14.X, then upgraded to 16.0.1 Still can’t make the OFW boot from sdloader or from hekate’s restart->OFW. Can boot it using “launch stock” entry...

I’m not moaning; I’m alpha-testing. :-) If you later on have a version you want me to flash on the current setup, happy to. Bonus if it’s flashable via hekate, but no biggie if it isn’t.

@rehius I’d add myself to the “can’t boot OFW with 2.6” crowd. I can boot sysemmc, emummc, but not reboot to OFW. Be that from hekate or +- in sdloader. If I try OFW, the screen goes blank. Sometimes the round N logo shows before blanking, sometimes not. Then I have to press power for ~10s...
