If you run udpih and its recovery menu, you can pair it even if your console is not hacked
There's a thread about udpih, just read it to know how to run it.
you could download the titles related to your wii u firmware. use MLCRestorerDownloader for that.
save title folder(s) you want to reinstall inside the install folder located on your sd card root
run udpih's this fork of recovery menu. it's a modified version that batch install titles inside...
suggestion:
- download .wux copy
- convert to .app files that can be installed using wup installer gx2. it can be done using jwudtool, discu or any other compatible wii u file converter.
you will need a common key and a game key which you can get from a simple Google search. I can't provide...
trigger udpih recovery menu on boot and choose option pair gamepad.
the process itself takes only a few seconds.
I used a modchipped Nintendo Switch to use udpih on Wii U, but there are other devices you could use too. search the respective thread here on gbatemp, all the instructions and...
UPDATE: everything is back and running, just like a stock 5.5.6U system.
I downloaded all the MLC and SLC titles of the USA firmware update using MLCRestorerDownloader and installed them one by one using UDPIH Install WUP option.
payloadloader was not installed, since health and safety was defective. so now I ran ftpiiu, deleted title 000500101004e10 (USA health and safety) and was able to install it successfully. the app was working and payload loader was not installed. anyway, I was not able to run a system update...
After changing the region from my japanese Wii U to USA following this guide (https://lazr1026.github.io/regionchange/#/), it seems I messed up deleting the japanese duplicated titles and now I have only the following channels on my home menu:
WII U Chat
Daily Log
Mii Maker
Parental Control...
thanks for the help, my friend
first I'll try to recover it by downloading the encrypted titles of the USA firmware and write them using the recovery_menu. if it doesn't work, I'll do the same for the JAP titles I deleted. if it still doesn't boot, I'll unbrick it using the teensy mod. I...
so my wii u is bricked after deleting the japanese titles from lazr1026's guide. after trying to boot and waiting some time, I get a 160-0101 error.
I'm not at home with my tools right now, so I'll try to recover it later.
thank you very much, I'll try it. I thought the pair gamepad option would work only for the recovery menu.
well, if anything goes wrong, I'll have some soldering to do to restore my nand backup. :(

so I followed all steps from the guide, now I receive a message that the gamepad has...
I have a japanese Wii U with a japanese gamepad.
I want to change it's region to USA and I don't have a USA gamepad.
Following @Lazr1026 guide, I should install Aroma after what step, exactly? I'm afraid of changing the region and not being able to pair the gamepad.
Posting just thank everyone involved in this post, directly and indirectly!
I've just purchased a japanese Wii U, bricked it trying to change its language, and thanks to the information shared in various messages on the first page, I managed to unbrick it without having to hardmod it to restore...
Usually when such a big title leaks the Temp will be the first to report about it (going off of historical reports here, Pokemon SV being the latest one I can recall seeing pop up here)
I only watch tv when i goto bed, it puts me to sleep, and I have a nas drive filled w my fav shows so i can watch them in order, commercial free. I usually watch Married w Children, or South Park
oh you mean the 3rd party apps on Kodi, yea i know what you mean, yea there are still a few cool ones, in fact watched the new planet of the apes movie other night w wifey thru one, was good pic surprisingly, not a cam
I got my Dad a firestick for Xmas and showed him those 3rd party sites on Kodi, he loves it, all he watches anymore. He said he has got 3 letters from AT&T already about pirating, but he says f them, let them shut my internet off (He wants out of his AT&T contract anyways)
I had to find and get him an old style flip phone even without text, cause thats what he wanted. No text, no internet, only phone calls. Old, old school.
