    30 for NTSC, 25 for PAL. I'm not sure how WiiMC will handle higher frame rates. It may drop them, or it could just crash. If you're transcoding anyway though, you might as well save yourself the storage space and set a cap.

    Well there's your problem. WiiMC's maximum supported resolution is 1280 by 720. Source. Download Handbrake. You can use it to scale and transcode your video to a supported format. I've had success with the settings described here.

    Definitely consider checking the hashes of the games that aren't working with Wii Backup Manager. It's entirely possible that the files themselves are invalid depending on where/how you obtained them.
