Hacking Checking version numbers for Wii U ,game updates

If I have a downloaded Wii U game update from the NUS CDN in encrypted format (*.app, *.h3, title.*), is there a way to check the version number of the update? Similarly, is there a way to check the latest version number of an update from NUS? Goal: to determine if I have the latest set of...

Hacking Question Any advantage to a Switch on OFW 3.0?

Ok, that's what I remembered. Shame no one's working on one.

Thanks. So no major advantage - I might as well sell it?

Hacking Question Any advantage to a Switch on OFW 3.0?

A couple of years ago I bought an extra Switch on firmware 3.0, which I have kept boxed up ever since. This was because I read that this was the magic firmware to stay at if hoping for a fully software untethered coldboot exploit (no jig, no chip, no USB). Is this still the case? Is there any...

Hardware Joycons grips should have electronics in them to mark L and R as a pair

Thanks, so if I had a charging grip lying around, plugged into the switch dock, and slotted two Joycons currently set as, e.g. controller 1 and controller 2, it will reassign them to one controller number? That sounds nice. Pity if it doesn't work with a unplugged charging grip, though, which is...

Hardware Joycons grips should have electronics in them to mark L and R as a pair

Please note that in the below I've only had experience of the non-charging Joycon grip that comes with the console: At the moment, if you have your Joycon L and Joycon R as two individual controllers, e.g. held sideways for multiplayer, then insert them into the grip, the Switch doesn't "know"...

Hardware Right Joycons now weaker wireless than left?

Yes, this is also a good test, although again, in my case it's the right Joycon which shows that problem! Maybe it's just something that happens with some Joycons and not others, but I did think it odd that four out of my four right Joycons show this problem and none of my left Joycons did...

Hardware Right Joycons now weaker wireless than left?

Thanks. Not really enough data yet to confirm a definite trend, so I would be interested to hear what other people find. Thanks to people who have voted so far. I wonder if the firmware on the Joycons matters too? You can do an "update controllers" from the Switch settings, although I'm not...

Hardware Right Joycons now weaker wireless than left?

I have tested four pairs of Joycons with two Switches, and in all cases the right Joycons have considerably weaker wireless than the left. Is anyone else seeing this? Specifically, the test I did was to use the built-in controller button test in Settings, with the Switch volume turned up, then...

Hardware Nintendo Switch Third-Party Dock Discussion

Well some of them are professionally made injection molded cases, but I know what you mean. I'd still be interested in reading people's opinions on them, as I'm sure they vary in terms of mechanical fit etc., but have the advantage of perfectly working electronics.

Hardware Nintendo Switch Third-Party Dock Discussion

What about the dock (or docks if there are more than one) that require the user to take apart their official dock and transplant the motherboard? They should have no compatibility problems, but how is the build quality?

Hacking Captain Toad camera zoom hack?

Yes, it would be great to be able to zoom in and out in several steps, or smoothly, maybe using shoulder buttons.

Hacking Wii U system menu mods possible?

Yes, there are parental controls which you can set per profile, but because there's nothing stopping kids from picking a different profile, I've had to set all profiles to lowest age, which is annoying! Also, I'd rather kids didn't even see some games listed, rather than just be denied starting...
