Hacking How To Softmod (Hack) Your PSP

Just downgraded to 6.39, with no issues. Tried downgrading further, to 6.20, and got the same error as before.

    v4.1 errors as well. :/

Tried that again. Still no luck. Looks like temporary CFW for this one. :(

Deleted the /seplugins/ folder and tried the downgrade again. No dice. Which makes sense, as I didn't have a /seplugins/ folder the first time I tried to downgrade.

Positive. Like I said, I picked up two Gos. One of them downgraded to 6.20 and installed CFW with no hiccups. This other has given me nothing but problems..

Hacking How To Softmod (Hack) Your PSP

I'm attempting to downgrade from OFW 6.60 to OFW 6.20, using the copy of Chronoswitch Downgrader that you have linked to in the instructions of this thread.

Hacking How To Softmod (Hack) Your PSP

Well, the 6.35 downgraded just fine. However, the 6.60 is spitting out an error (CAAFFFFFCF7), saying a later version of the system software is already installed. Everything I can find, points towards downgrading issues with this error message means this model is impossible to downgrade...

Hacking How To Softmod (Hack) Your PSP

Obviously. But do I need to upgrade the 6.35 one to 6.60 before downgrading?

Hacking How To Softmod (Hack) Your PSP

I'm not entirely sure, actually. Firmware versions are somewhat over my head, as I was last using m33-something on my Slim, forever ago. All I know, is I want a permanent solution for the two systems. No temporary stuff, if possible, as one of them is going to someone that would barely...

Hacking How To Softmod (Hack) Your PSP

I have a couple used PSP Gos that I picked up today from GameStop. They came with 6.35 and 6.60 OFW installed, and I'm looking for the best solution for perma-modding them. I've been out of the scene for a while, so this is mostly fresh stuff for me nowadays, and some help would be awesome.

Super Mario Star Road RELEASE! (Download avaliable)

I've used various files with [!] in the name. They all have the same results. [EDIT] Nevermind, I got it working alright. Time to attempt injection!

Super Mario Star Road RELEASE! (Download avaliable)

Just wanted to point this out: I don't know if it's just my luck, or the extender program; but I've probably thrown 12 SM64 (U) ROMs from various sources at it, all of which make the program spit out this error. Was hoping to get some feedback on this, or see if it was an issue for anyone else...

Super Mario Star Road RELEASE! (Download avaliable)

I'm not a huge fan of some of the textures used/made for this hack. They look out of place compared to default ones. However, looks like an amazing game to play. I'ma get to working on injecting it into a VC title to play on my Wii.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

i think only the red mario kart edition phat was v5

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
