I would love to see people on this site hostkng amas but if anything, there Zhou be rules that shouldn't be allowed to ask to the person hosting it (nothing too personal, and if they dont want.to answer they have full right to not do so)

The know your temps sounds like a fun idea, but I believe that this would be revived if it were to have its own Fourm category on the site itself. That way, people can host their own without having to do it a la blogs or some other way.
