    The MIG Switch Thread

If Unlock Switch does end up being real, the button to change game without ejecting is worth waiting for and buy instead of migswitch. Plus they keep hinting of other improvements, so hopefully its just not an exact copy.

    The MIG Switch Thread

I updated my message too late but thats exactly what I do. I guess what i'm trying to say is... using a migswitch and risking a console ban is not worth it for me. Unlike a V1 switch... once an unmodded switch gets banned, i won't be able to play any updates of games. Wether officially using...

    The MIG Switch Thread

Wish that was true, but I guess mine is console ban cause no matter what I do I cannot update official way. Maybe I'm phrasing it wrong but... what I'm trying to say is, I can play my official legitimate physical copy Mario Kart 8, but since it has many updates after release, I cannot...

    The MIG Switch Thread

I already have a V1 switch so too worried if homebrew is not possible. The main thing i'm hoping is a way to update games by update files and not having to update through nintendo. I don't want having a unmodded OLED switch that is banned, that means it will be almost be useless with games that...

    The MIG Switch Thread

I myself almost bought one, but because what ive beed reading i'm holding off to see what "unlock switch" can offer. Maybe they can offer a way to install other files like nsp, making updating easier. Been following them and they are promising open source, so maybe even if they can't offer that...

    The MIG Switch Thread

Not sure how true it is but i've been told but even just updating, if you have a donor cert, nintendo will eventually find out since you're going online to download update. Its just a matter of time before you get banned, and then you won't be able to update any games. Meaning you'll be stuck...

You're lucky, my one of my OG release date switch is console ban, and can't update any games even legitimate carts. Good thing it doesnt need to be modded and can use custom firmware.

Hacking Hardware MigSwitch, i just recieve my sample.

Nintendo ban is so random. I had 3 OG release day switches and one of them got console banned, and that switch can't download updates at all. Same here, even legitimate cartridges won't even let me update on this switch. Just firmware update. Good thing it can run homebrew and custom firmware...

    The MIG Switch Thread

Since you have this pirating thing kinda solved, I do have a serious question that has kept me from getting one of these, or even prevented me from getting excited at the MigSwitch clone UnlockSwitch. How do you deal with updating games? I know a lot of games don't need additional downloads but...

Hacking Hardware MigSwitch, i just recieve my sample.

If you use MigSwitch the way it is intended, by backing your own games, getting banned shouldn't be an issue. But everyone knows, the majority of people getting MigSwitch will be using it to play games downloaded from internet. Getting banned and not being able to play online Mario Kart or any...

Does overclocking the GPU improve performance in Retroarch?

Same experience as people above, personally don’t use shaders to see if GPU OC helps with shaders. But I definitely can notice the improvement in systems like Dreamcast and N64. Also, I have a day 1 switch and been using sys-clk since it came out and no issues. Even with using OC pretty much...

    The MIG Switch Thread

Thank you for the information! And I can read, but also know that in the business of flashcarts and similar products, no matter what the manufacturer says, its always about piracy. It's about making money by making a product to attract people who pirate. I was just thinking maybe the...

Has the manufacturer said anything about on whether it will ever be able to support installing digital only games? Or has someone already found a way to do that?

Nintendo is suing the Yuzu emulator team

And that’s why I think everyone is overreacting over this, and assuming that next is every Nintendo emulator will be and and then all emulators. I don’t think that’s the case at all. Just as Sony did with Bleemcast, Nintendo is doing the same with Yuzu, an emulator that emulates a system that...

Nintendo is suing the Yuzu emulator team

Ethically, I’m torn regarding this. For current systems, I actually see where Nintendo is coming from. For older systems like, 3DS and WiiU I support emulating those since technically they don’t make games and systems anymore. I know emulation is important to game preservations, especially...

Hacking Hardware MigSwitch, i just recieve my sample.

That’s true but you have to go back to the part that you can’t play digital only releases. And the games that have been released on cartridges, most have version 1.0 of the game… meaning you’re stuck on the crappy version with bugs or update online and risk your new Switch 2 being console...

Hacking Hardware MigSwitch, i just recieve my sample.

For me it’s due to Migswitch not being able to play digital only games, plus not being able to manually update games without going through Nintendo. People would be surprised on price for modded switch, just google Sthetix’s. I got my OLED for around $60 over regular price, and price include...

Homebrew RELEASE pSNES: Switch Snes9x port

Version 6.7 has been released, good update but might be a small issue where emu crashes if you exit emu, the re-launch emu without restarting hbmenu.

Hardware Switch become extremely lag when docked

When you say lag, do you mean lag from controller? Like you press a button then it takes half a second to register on screen, and pretty soon you cant even control your character properly cause its like seconds behind? If that's the case ive had similar issues, for me it was my joycon being too...

What is the best way to run emulators on the Switch?

Short answer all the above, its individual preferences really. Home console, don't expect anything above dreamcast. For handheld nothing more advance than psp and maybe 3ds. Personally I stick with emulators on HOS, standalone if available. But for certain games like MVC2 on dreamcast lakka is...

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
