Homebrew friimc_savebackup in the SD card directory after the new Nintendo 3DS mod

After doing the mod on my new Nintendo 3ds XL I noticed that in the main directory of the SD card of my new 3ds XL there is a folder called "friimc_savebackup" with a file inside called "backup_eur.bin"
I have no idea what it is because even though I searched the internet I couldn't find an answer.
Is there anyone who can explain to me what it is?

    i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

    Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
