Hello. I've been trying to get some models out of a PSP game Fullmetal Alchemist - Yakusoku no Hi e, I managed to open up the data folder but the models are in formats that Noesis refuses to open.

I get these file types:

-ANMP
-MDL
-PIX
-SOP
-TBL

.anmp - probably data related to animations
.mdl - probably model (and mesh?) info
.pix - seem to have .gim file compressed from what im seeing, but .pix should have something to do with textures in general
.tbl - used for scripts and in-game text from what i know

these other than the knowledge on the .tbl files are what i gathered from putting some files of those types into hex editors and looking for any compression that may have taken place. i came to a lot of dead ends trying to search the file types on hacking sites and the like, so take what i say with a grain of salt...

what i'm thinking is that the models may be compressed in one of these and will need to be extracted somehow before they can be read by a program, but thats really just a hunch. maybe i just spat a buncha nonsense right now too ? :wacko:eitherway good luck trying to get those models :D
Post automatically merged:

i looked into the .pix files a bit more and they are indeed textures for models.

for example P025.pix contains textures for Envy's model and im assuming all the other .pix files in the "Player" category of files contain textures for player/enemy characters. i was able to convert it from .pix to .gim to a viewable .png file too.

still not sure about all the other file types, though

    @Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.

    At least Linux doesn't contain spyware than what Windows has.

    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

    @SylverReZ,
    I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

    Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

    @SylverReZ,
    I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

    @Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.

    I think my favorite one was that dancing purple gorilla... I uninstalled that thing from sooo many machine people would be like "Why is my computer so slow?" lol because this thing is using like 30% of your system resources.....

    This one lady... her son kept installing Kazaa... OK no problem the issue is he would download DBZ movies and they where amazing usually like 2-8KB in size lol can't remember how many times I had to format and reinstall windows over his stupidity. I even explained to him about file sizes multiple times...
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    yeah Bonzi buddy was malware sort of... It was borderline lol
