How do you mean important? If there's a reply that's particularly relevant or wants highlighting, you can use the threadmark feature to make it visible to anybody viewing the thread. This can be done by the thread's OP or a member of the site's staff by clicking the "..." to the right of the edit button on the post, and using the "Add threadmark" option.
To my knowledge posts highlighted by the OP and posts highlighted by staff will be shown differently to avoid confusion.
