Okay folks... kind of a RANT + PSA (PSA in first comment)
So, you might know that 2 weeks ago, my Gamecube Controller died.
I had the fucker since 2001.
I was playing HYPER Street Fighter 2 in RetroArch-Wii, when all of sudden my A button stopped working, but I could still use the D-Pad, Analog Stick, C-Stick, and B.
So, I unplugged the controller and plugged it in with no response, not even the D-Pad worked at that point.
Turned off my Wii, disassembled my GCN Controller and gave it a good clean with IPA, changed button membranes and replaced Buttons (I've got couple broken GCN controllers from the Flea Market, so I have some spare stuff) and nothing worked again. As a matter of fact, when I reconnected my GCN controller a third time, it did a "HSSSSSSS" sound while the Rumble went crazy and the port got super hot to the touch.
DEAD!
Today I've decided to get a new one, from On-Line stores.
I've checked Amazon, and since I hadn't bought anything from there yet, I have a $200.00MXN discount in my first purchase. So that's neat!
But I remembered this other On-Line store called "Mercado Libre" in which there's a Rank-LEVEL UP system. The more you buy, the more your rank goes up and the higher the level the more discounts you get.
Thus far, I'm Level 6 in Mercado Libre which gives me FREE SHIPPING/DELIVERY from Local Stores ("Local" meaning stores in my country), plus couple hundreds of pesos of discount in selected articles among other stuff such as discounts in Disney+, STARS, NETFLIX, etc.
So I decided to check Mercado Libre, since the last time I bought something there was literally 1 year ago when I got my 64GB SD Card + Bubble Gum + Monitor Mounted Arm.
Anyway... I got locked out of my own Mercado Libre account because apparently, with the whole pandemic, a lot of delivery personel fucked up Mercado Libre Mexico with stealings and other shit. So, Mercado Libre implemented a security system in which any registered account must have a scanned document of the account's owner official identification, in my country being this card called "IFE"/"INE" which is the official credential that you're obligated to get by the legal age because it's the official document that certifies you as a Mexican Citizen.
In other words, what Green Cards are in USA.
Anyway... I've been investigating and asking Reddit's r/México, if it's safe to let Mercado Libre have such sensitive information. By sensitive I mean that every single IFE/INE credential has your entire name, age, date of birth, current address, a unique key/code that's given to you when you register when you're born that's called "CURP" (Clave Unica de Registro de Población, in english: Unique Key of Poblation Register) and most importantly, the code that certifies that you're a citizen entitled for democratic political votes and also in the reverse, there's a print of your thumb and another key + scan bar that I don't know what's supposed to be used for.
Bad people with that kind of information can do a fuckton of problems if you're not careful, specially with the CURP key and Thumb Print, which is why I'm being extra careful at handing out such info to Mercado Libre. But mexican folks in r/México has explained to me that Mercado Libre is registered to an organization that protects your private information.
So anyway... it seems safe.
Anyway... here I am, 5am (currently 6:11am) trying to access my Mercado Libre account to get access to my sweet, sweet, sweet LEVEL 6 discounts in order to buy cheaper and get free delivery... and it's telling me that "You need to take a picture of your INE's FRONT and REVERSE in order to verify your account" and here I am taking pictures of my INE Credential.
First, the front, Mercado Libre is like: "Wait... wait... wait..." while a bar is filling up. Then it says "GOOOOD" "NOW THE REVERSE"
Then, I take the picture of the reverse of my INE Credential and Marcado Libre is like: "Wait... wait... wait... wait..." "Oh no... your INE has expired"
And I'm like:
FUCKING GOD IT EXPIRED IN 2022!
GOD DAMMIT I NEED TO UPDATE MY INE CREDENTIAL!
When I turned 18, in 2011, before I got out of highschool, I had huge plans of getting a job. So, of course, being a "Legal Adult" by the age of 18, you're required the IFE/INE in order to prove you're a citizen, and yala lala blah blah.
Anyway, I didn't got my IFE/INE Credential until I turned 19 when I went to work in a Candy Factory near my home, so... 2012... is the year I got my IFE/INE (back in 2012 the INE was called IFE, but that's changed now... IFE doesn't exist anymore)
So, legally, I don't exist as a Mexican Citizen, currently that is.
In order to update my INE Credential, first, I must update all my information, such as Birth Certificate, CURP key document, I have to take new photograps of myself, I have to get a new document that proves that the address I'm living in is an official address and that I'm currently living in it (this document expires every two months) and that means that I have to go to a fuckton of different places fucking updating my documents in order to get a new fucking INE Credential in order to get to my FUCKING MERCADO LIBRE ACCOUNT IN ORDER TO GET A FUCKING NEW NINTENDO GAMECUBE CONTROLLER
GOD DAMNIT MOTHER FUCKER I HATE BEING ALIVE RIGHT NOW WHY THE FUCK DO I NEED TO DO THAT SHIT IN ORDER TO GET ONE FUCKING SHIT TO ENTERTAIN MY FUCKING SHITTY LIFE!?

Title is not misleading. I literally don't exist as a Mexican Citizen anymore because I have to update all my documents. From Birth Certificate up till INE Credential.
If I get seriously wounded I'm not entitled to receive any kind of medical procedure (not that I've been able before... it's a long story) and also I can't initiate any kind of legal certification such as my INE Credential renovation, or asking the bank for a loan (I never will btw) because again, need to update all my documents.
Right now... I'm not certified as a Citizen. I'm not sure how legal that is... but meh.

Because: There was an official INE TV commercial that said that "If your IFE or INE reverse code ends in these 4 digits, you don't need to renew your credential and it's valid in this year's elections. Don't let yourself out of participating in Mexico's Democracy"
