This is not something anyone here can really teach you about because most of what anyone says will be extremely biased towards one political party or another. Your best bet is to take some political science classes.
When you say you want to learn about politics do you mean you want to learn about current contemporary American politics? Or do you want more on political theory? Cause if you want to know more about theory your best bet is probably to go read the books that any political science course would cover. I'm sure there's a reading list out there that would give you a good starting point. All really depends on how much effort you're willing to put in.
