Looks interesting! That would be a nice addition to the collection.

Nope. Not interesting anymore. D*mn expensive PS1 CD!

Since COVID-19 prices for "retro" games went completely berserk… and they will never be normal again. What I don't have yet, I'll never own.

I will certainly not pay 50€ to >100€ (depending on condition and missing/present box, cover, manual) for a CD more than a quarter of a century old.

Wait i just realized, klonoa 1&2 have been remade for pc and modern consoles, oops turns out im missing a couple of braincells :/
Anyway yes klonoa is a banger buy it on steam

edit: nvm it's also 50$ welp just be a pirate i guess :/

How about no? Piracy is not an option.
Idk if you're avoiding piracy in order to not hurt the developers of the game OR because it just feels right owning the game instead of clicking a download button.

If it's the former, idk, you're gonna buy it used anyway, no money goes to the devs, only the seller. If it's the ladder, I completely understand you. Having the original console and game just feels correct.

For example, I'm playing all my GB, GBC, and GBA games on my 2DS. It's fine. But then I went to a friend who has a GBA SP with a couple of gb and gba games and, yeah, it just feels like I'm playing it correctly. (it's just very stupid how og gameboy games stick out of the gba sp so everyone KNOWS you're playing an old ass gameboy game)

Don't get me wrong. I'm not holy or anything. Sometimes I did "try before buy" and looked around concerning things that are 100% unobtainable via legal means – regardless of the amount of money one is willing to pay. The copyright laws with their eternal duration are a huge mess and should be improved in our favor (as if this would ever happen…)

Generally I avoid software piracy because it feels wrong. The other part – Collection – is also important. I'm a haptics oriented person. If I can't touch something, it isn't really there. Digital Storefronts → 🤮
In the case of PS1 we have the problem that – to my knowledge – there is no way of creating self-booting discs yourself. It may sound silly: I own a cheat cartridge supporting the swap trick and have FreePSXBoot Memory Cards. I've soldered in a PsNee after flashing the chip myself… but it just doesn't feel the same as simply booting a disc on an unmodified console.
Maybe I'm completely messed up. I have the same problem with PC games. Copies from virtual drives feel like a cheap cheat. Only physical copies on CD-R, which boot without helper software, feel correct… and I just can't achieve the same on the PS1.

Full disclosure:
I do have a Steam account (yes, it hurt doing this) because I *absolutely* wanted to have (and support the devs!) the Cally's Caves games, which can't be legally obtained for Windows without Steam account. But the games are free of DRM and Steam got kicked after buying+downloading (hope to never need it again).

Yeah, even though I had a computer even back then, I was too dumb to realize the existence of emulators and shit. I always wanted to play, for example all the snes and n64 marios because all I had was a DS (and because i was, and still am, a huge mario fan, you gotta love the wahoo man)

After like 2016 I learned more and more about computers, emulation, console modding and all that fun jazz.
Anyway, where were we...? Oh right.

Klonoa is a banger and a half and the Wii version shall go to hell.
I mean, god damn it, they gave klonoa, who's a cute little rabbit/dog/cat/fucking idk thingy, a teenager sonic sounding ass voice speaking english where in klonoa on ps1 they speak pure gibberish. (thankfully the gibberish is still an option on wii, wouldnt have it any other way)(also they completely removed the english option in the remake so, that fact speaks for itself).

Anyhoo, I still need to download legally obtain the sequel.
