In terms of saving especially in Pokemon games, which one is better? i don't know if they work the same in terms of saving the game properly. Which one do you recommend

The EZ Flash Omega saves to the SD card during gameplay. It is recommended that you wait 10 seconds after saving before powering off the console, or else you may corrupt the save file or even the SD card.

The Definitive Edition saves to FRAM during gameplay. Upon reboot, it copies the save from FRAM to the SD card. This is very similar to most flashcarts such as the Everdrive and EZ Flash IV, but because it uses FRAM rather than SRAM it does not require the battery to have a charge to save.

For peace of mind, I'd go with the DE.

Do the two cartridges use the same board and will it be possible to solder FRAM if so? Just a thought.

You probably could replace it but you'd also need to rewrite how the firmware handles the save so you could back it up still, current system would just try to write what it backed up while it's being used last time whenever you tried to play a game.

The biggest issue with that is with the originals save system it's possible for the card to not receive enough power while it's backing up (Especially if battery is around 25% or so, so before low indicators will kick in) and it just immediately corrupts the save and likely a chunk of the SD card too, no amount of waiting to turn off the card will prevent that issue, considering low power is literally the one time you would absolutely want to save it's an absolute joke of a system.

By the time you're done pissing around with all that you might as well just grab a DE or any other card and be done with it.

If i turned off DE, the save will be keeped on FRAM and will save to SD card when i turn it on again days after? Or should i reset to menu every time i want the save write to sd?
Thanks!
