How concerned should one be about their electronics in a tropical climate?

Hot humid climates are bad for electronics because wet metals corrode and heat makes chemical reactions occur more quickly. Soon I'm moving from a temperate climate to a tropical climate. Is it worth storing my Switch in an airtight container with a moisture absorber, taking any other precautions or is this just paranoia?

 Interesting question. I'm not a tekie guy, but one would think you would still get "Condensation" in it when you take it out of the "airtight container" in a moisture like environment

Let's see what the guys come up with. :)

On a side note:

As a child, I used to live in Mexico, and I carried around an old low tech "Motorola" Portable Radio, and had no problems. Though it doesn't produce high heat that requires it to have a fan.

This is true but there's a difference between it being in humid air when I'm actually using it and storing it in humid air for years.
