Gaming PS1/2 PS2 Games that Stand the Test of Time?

Between Revenge and Paradise, Revenge is a lot more fun while Paradise has more repeatability to smash all those targets and whatever.

I didn't even complete the Elite license because I got tired of doing the same races over and over, and over again. I've decided to leave it for next year so it feels kinda fresh.

And what's the problem with that exactly? You can use patch to put ""better"" 2D-related stuff anyways through PCSX2 (an example would be those GT4 "remastered" mods that look like someone flooded the whole track).
I honestly don't mind "pixelated" graphics. (in fact, I'm one of those that play CS:S without texture filters. I'd rather see chunky pixels rather than having the experience of someone smearing vaseline all over my screen)

It's even sadder to assume that everyone played on a CRT that smeared the whole screen. The ones from the 90s onward didn't exactly looked like you're pretending they did lol.

Plus, this is PS2, not exactly famous for 2D Pixel platformers.

Already did that, in fact I had a CRT until like, 2013. And I stand by assertion.
Maybe this will shock you, but people differ in tastes. I prefer my pixel sharp.

Well, to be completely honest with you, i changed my mind on this subject. YES, older games look awesome on older CRTs, but pixel sharp sprites are welcome as well.
I know there was RGB Scart and high definition Sony TVs back then and you could see the pixelation as well with scanlines. So its totally OK to play them with pixel sharp graphics on a emulator.
I even sold my PS2 and just play with emus now, its for convenience and i was obsessed with perfect geometry and we know that its hard to get a CRT TV with perfect geometry today, so i stopped wasting time and just started using emulation on my 1080p monitor instead LOL.

Well, to be completely honest with you, i changed my mind on this subject. YES, older games look awesome on older CRTs, but pixel sharp sprites are welcome as well.

These days, I've forgotten if CRT TV's are truly better. I do recall games sounding like a million dollars on those crunchy speakers, though.

These days, I've forgotten if CRT TV's are truly better. I do recall games sounding like a million dollars on those crunchy speakers, though.

Yes brother, i think its just convenient to just use your computer and have all the emulators there instead of going the old school route using old technology like the CRT TV that if it breaks you get no replacement parts or someone who can fix it, they are also bulky and heavy unless you get a small one. Also like i mentioned there is magnetization and geometry problems with years of use and you cant fix that easily not even on Service Mode.

I had a Philips 21 inch TV that looked awesome but had a slight rotation problem and that annoyed me a lot, and i could not fix it in service mode, a bummer.
Another one i have is a Grundig, 20inch. Its geometry is perfect for a CRT TV but the image is not as sharp as the Philips TV.
Then i had another 14inch that had excelent image but some colors were "washed out" lol
So i never found a perfect TV i pretty much gave up with my obsession. After all pixel perfect is the perfect image of the game so i cant complain.

Our family had Sony's back in the day, and I feel like those had great quality sound and color. I'm not sure if you've had any experience with Sony CRT's, but they might be worth a shot.

Ps2 has many great arcade ports which are a banger even today. Time Crisis 3 and Metal Slug Anthology come to mind.
