when you compile the resulting dol, add GX_PTHREAD_LEGACY=0 as shown:

make -f Makefile.griffin platform=wii GX_PTHREAD_LEGACY=0

another useful argument, is using the external libOGC used by RetroArch, you can also pass the argument EXTERNAL_LIBOGC=1 as shown:

make -f Makefile.griffin platform=wii EXTERNAL_LIBOGC=1
You can even use both arguments in case build fails in some cases, as shown:

make -f Makefile.griffin platform=wii EXTERNAL_LIBOGC=1 GX_PTHREAD_LEGACY=0
Tried those arguments but it still errors the same :P I can get the core to compile with my older Retroarch source from mid December.. It doesnt matter at least I know why it fails now.

Is there any reason you want to update the Stella core in particular?

i don't like using the Stella2014 core since it's so outdated.
Same for Wii2600.

For reference:
Stella 2014 Libretro - Stella v3.9.3
Wii2600 - Stella v2.7.2
And the latest upstream Stella: Stella v6.7.1

I've heard time ago someone made a working build of Stella v6.1 for the Wii with RetroArch Wii v1.7.7 (i think?) But i just don't know how did they even manage to compile a working Stella core.

@JuanMena

Are you using Wii or vWii when experiencing the crackling audio issues with RA?

I have heard of this issue(s) before but cannot reproduce this on my end. With the exception of o2em and theodore cores which have always had buzzing/crackling audio, i have pretty much covered/tested RA thoroughly and since RA 1.5.0 ^^^ RA 1.16.0 these audio issues simply do not exist for me.

@JuanMena

One other question?.....Are you using the original AV cable or HDMI adapter setup?
It doesn't matter, I've used AV, Component, Wii2HDMI, RetroArch still has crackling sound regardless. This problem has been carried over since 1.9.1 onwards, except back then it was some cores, unlike today's versions.

This will be the continuation of @zerofalcon's thread https://gbatemp.net/threads/retroarch-unofficial-extra-cores.405410/

These cores i will mention here are not available within nightly builds, so I compiled and uploaded these for those people who want to test it or like to play with those tiny and classic emulators.
Be aware that some cores won't have so much performance (such Virtual Jaguar), and some cores aren't finished/updated anymore.

All these UNOFFICIAL cores were compiled with RetroArch Wii GUI v1.15.0

Cores I will post here:
For get the .info files of the cores for be able to use them, download them at https://github.com/libretro/libretro-core-info

Please test these builds of cores, thanks ;)

Looking at the other thread you posted, will these work on RA wii 1.7.6?

    I've put down the money on the Odin 2 Mini since I just love that Vita form factor. Loved the power of the Odin 2 but the size always put me off, this one seems exactly what I've been wanting.
