These xml files are meant to remove unused content and ads on PS3's XMB.
What is removed:
- PSN icons outside of the PSN tab
- Photo Gallery
- Fixed icons on streaming services removed (it is still possible
to install them, these icons are just not fixed anymore)
- What's New section
- Unused references for quicker loading (PSNow, Gaikai hardware, Arcade...)
- Facebook integration
The 4.88 version made for hen removes all of the above plus more:
- DEX references
- Debug Shop items
- Cloud Storage options
- option to add a credit card to the PS3, since Sony will stop supporting this feature on 27th October.
I did this because there is only one hybrid firmware, so I can edit some things safely and remove
any references to alternate environments, which hen consoles cant use at all.
On cfw there are a lot of changes depending what cfw version you install (rebug, evilnat...)
It can work but be careful, so make beckups before.
In general I recommend avoiding copying the category_game and category_network
on cfw consoles.
It is highly recommended to copy these files before installing other xmb mods
like webman or hen toolbox because the icons for these programs will disappear. You
will need to reinstall them for it to work again.

Instructions
Unpack these files, then on your console you need to enable
dev_blind write operations (on multiman you need to enter on settings, but I
dont know exactly how to enable on irisman or if it is enabled by default), then
with one of them open use FTP or the file manager of the app to enter this folder:
dev_blind (or dev_rewrite on hen)
/vsh/resource/explore/xml/
Copy it as a backup, then paste all downloaded files (except the restore folder
and the howto.txt) on the xml folder of your PS3, allow to overwrite if asked and
restart the system.
(this is a simple flash mod that shouldn't cause any
issues, but still.. do this at your risk)
