Sorry if this has already been posted, but it seems really shortsighted and crazy.

Nope, it hasn't been posted. I don't really feel sorry for them as it's not as if they break easily, especially if they aren't even using them for gaming, and even then, i'm sure it's not impossible to find models with OtherOS still there and there's even GeoHot's workaround.

I do not morally support the Zionist militaries of the West, so I definitely don't feel sorry for them, but what stands out is the use of consumer grade electronics for what is supposed to be national defense. The most cost effective solution is not always the best one. It is just a bad way of doing things

From what I read it doesn't really effect the airforce since the PS3's aren't connected to the playstation network. The only way it could hinder them is if a PS3 in the system dies and needs to be replaced. But surely Sony would just issue some without the update for the airforce if they asked nicely.
