Best gizmo for turning phone into portable console & media device.

Looks like my still fairly-able Sony Experia 5ii is going to be retired, cuz my wife (iPhone cultist) claims no photos by text are being delivered between our phones anymore and other compatibility issues. My 5ii has for-shit trade-in potential, so I thought I might keep it for portable web browsing (wifi), gaming, and video. I'm looking on Amazon at controllers w/ bt and a built-in clip that holds the phone, but I doubt any of them are up to the quality of an 8bitdo product, for example.

Suggestions??

I've tried it out and was very impressed. It's somewhat reminiscent to a Xbox controller.

Set up a front end like Beacon and you have a gaming device to go.
