I want to add Miis to Miitopia and It seems like this is the only way I can. But I don't want to buy the game, until I'm 100% sure I can do It.

You may ask:

Why not SysNAND?
I managed to make cheats work on SysNAND if I'm offline w. Airplane mode?

Why don't you play with cheats on EmuNAND?
Oh, how I wish, I could! Cheats and Tesla menu crashes the game with "Game closed. Error occured" message, the minute I trigger a cutscene. Tried replacing sigpatches and upgrading firmware. Didn't work. Renaming contents to oldcontents work... until I put Tesla menu back. I'm also 99% sure my SD Card is FAT32. I can't check right now.

The other condition is that the sysnand/ofw have to be clean, if you ran cheat on sysnand you probably would get flagged for a ban.

For me, that isn't the case. I have been running cfw sysnand solely for singleplayer cheats and save file extraction for the past 5 years without blanking prodinfo or blocking ninty's servers. I believe the creator of the CFW does the same as well.

@ OP

If tesla is crashing for you, then maybe try Edizon without overlay. It's not as convenient but it should be more stable.

OP, did you back up your NAND after the last time it was online but before modding the switch? Most guides suggest it as a first step. That should be a clean back up. You could restore and go online but you'll lose whatever you did after the backup was made.
I don't recall backing up. It was mostly online with EmuNAND and with the Nintendo servers blocked. Also, what do you by "backing up"? Use save editor to extract my saves? Copy everything from the SD Card to my PC? Create a restore point?

You got a clean NAND backup?
I'm not sure. How can I tell?

Good idea. I did not know I can turn It off. Thank you. 🙂

To clarify, it isn't turning off the tesla overlay. Rather, it is to access Edizon through the homebrew menu (ie album). That was the original way of doing it before Tesla came about.
I see. Thank you for the clarification.

You would only have a clean NAND backup if you back it up before doing anything to Sysnand CFW/OFW as Sysnand CFW and OFW share the same NAND.
I honestly don't remember. I might not have clean NAND backup. If that's the case, then, should I use Stock?

Everytime you go online, ninty captures information from your switch, play history, error logs etc. If you go online and there is unexpected discrepancies, like eshop games not purchased but still having showed as played, for example. Or maybe you being online at the same time as someone playing a game withe identical IDs (because its pirated) or maybe being on a version of the sys menu that you never downloaded and wasn't on a cart... you'll have a dirty NAND and be put on a banned list. Then eventually they will ban you. They ban large numbers of players simultaneously in "ban waves".

Most good guides suggest making a NAND backup first, there are many reasons this is a good idea, and one reason is this is your only opportunity to make a clean backup.

OP, from your questions it seems you don't have a basic foundation of understanding the terminology of beginner Switch hacking. Please do read and look up terms like SysNAND, EmuNAND, NAND Backup and so forth. All of us regulars have spent hours and hours explaining these things. The information is easy to find with a Google search. If you need clarification or advice please ask, but it helps to speak the same language. Do your due diligence and we'll all be thankful and willing to help.

Thank you for the suggestion. I'll do my research and I'll let you know, if I need further help. Have a nice day. 🙂
