NUSspli taking 3-5 hours to install a game that is 3GB

So I recently got a Wii U and modded it with aroma, Payloader and everything. I even got nusspli for it. I am installing Nintendo Land on it (Which is like 3gb) onto my 2tb External Hard drive. It says it is going to take like 3-5 hours to install it. My internet connection is stable and I even got a USB-Y splitter for the HDD. Im not sure if this is normal or if im doing something wrong. I have experience modding stuff like the 3ds, 360 and Wii and jailbreaking phones but I do not remember it taking this long to install 3gb even with the 3ds, which is less powerful than the wii u in terms of hardware capabilities.
Is this normal or is something wrong?

As far as I remember, WiiU's network capabilities were very limited in terms of speed. Even updates took way too long to the point many owners thought it had bricked.

Why not install it using an SD card instead?

Wii U's WIFI is also notoriously slow and bad. If you change to ethernet via a USB LAN adaptor, you'll halve that time.

this doesn’t work for me, still getting 1.4mb a second
