I would suggest updating, as with luma3ds alongside b9s, there are no drawbacks. You can also launch .firm files through the luma chainloader by placing godmode9.firm in SD://luma/payloads/ and launching it by holding start on boot. If you followed 3ds.guide, it should have mentioned all of this.

im trying to make a backup of my GW emuNAND im using the EmuNAND9.3dsx to run it this from the Homebrew Launcher but all i get is a flash of colors on the screen and it returns back to the Homebrew menu and when i try the other one with UI it says failed to load archive

Do NOT use this program. It is outdated, and does not work. The .3dsx requires a very old FW version. Just use GodMode9.
Why are you using an emunand? They're outdated and provide nearly no benefits.

OH, i was wanting an emunand cause people were talking about the new piracy things in 11.8 so i wanted it for SAFETY
It's still something you don't need and will really only make your life more complicated. All it does is kill 1.2gb on your ad card and make a 2nd 3ds you can boot into there. Are you following a guide of any kind telling you to make an emunand? If you really have a genuine reason why you need an emunand and just using sysnand isn't enough, just tell me. If it's for brick protection, it won't make a difference since 3ds's are brick proof now.
Edited my post right before you posted. B9s is installed to the bootrom, which no matter what you do, you cannot write to it no matter what you do. You would have to physically design a program that installed junk to the bootrom to keep it from booting. For all intents and purposes, you basically have a hardmod. As long as you backup your nand every once and a while, you can restore it with godmode9.
The emunand isnt an entirely new 3ds, it's a copy of your existing one. If the sysnand gets banned, so does the emunand, and you can use nands from other consoles.

B9S and a nand backup is already that.
It's still the same 3DS. An emunand starts as a copy of nand onto a special partition. Since you start with the same stuff, it's still the same 3DS.
