Just installed it on my Series X via dev mode. Everything functions great, except save files.

Confirmed that rom and save names are identical, and path is set correctly in directory. My issue is that I can copy/paste the .dsv file I use from Desmume in Windows to the Xbox, and it won't read it, and starts the game as if it's not there. Same thing if I paste in the .sav file, which, on Windows was an automatic import and conversion to .dsv.

As a test, i renamed the rom file and saves to "test" to eliminate me not seeing a spelling difference.

Also, if I create a new save from a fresh game, it DOES get created, but replacing it with my own falls back to the above issue. Anyone know what might be going on here? Thought it would be great to use it for DS games but locking saves to the Xbox is a no-go for me.

Also dropped the latest x64 core .dll in to make sure it wasn't just core version incompatibility or something.

Further testing of creating a fresh save file allowed me to load it with Desmume 2015, but regular Desmume will not load it. First time I try to save with 2015 crashes Retroarch. Seems like there's some save issues with the core on Xbox, but I haven't come across any other mentions of it while Googling.

I'm having save issues in DeSmuMe as well, though for me it won't create the save file at all. I go to save in game, says it saves successfully, then I immediately go to save again and my previous save isn't there, no DSV file created. Are you still having issues or have you discovered something?

I haven't had any luck figuring it out. I'll eventually try one of the new builds to see if it still exists.

I know the pricing of electronics nowadays isn't "how much it actually costs" but "how much we can get away with", but putting up a poll is just cynical.

Nah I'm getting value creep again. I look at a $50 console "but for just a few more dollars you could get XYZ" and I end up considering the Steam Deck.
