I was walking to the bank when this peculiar man approached me. He asked, "why are you still wearing a mask?*" "I just like masks I guess", I reply. "You are not free", he says, "You need to break free of the chains of society. Have you heard of <insert names of authors I forget>? Read their books to become free." He hands me a business card. "I feel free already though", I reply, shoving the card in my pocket. "Ah, but you are conditioned by society to think you are free when you actually are not." He then goes on a short rant talking about how people in positions of power are using hypnosis to control us, and how the taxes we must pay take away our freedom. He spends the majority of the time talking about our taxes. "Taxes go to the police and military. The police, who are killing people every day. The military fighting people in other countres and coninuing long wars."* Then he says something to the extent of "paying your taxes = killing people". I say "while yes, there have been brutal killings from police, they play an important role in keeping streets safe. And taxes aren't just for those two things. Things like schools need taxes. You should look at the big picture rather than a few small points." He quickly comes back with, "that is because that is what society wants you to believe. It isn't real." Ok man, can I just go to the bank now? I try to escape, but he just keeps talking. He starts discussing some other things, like religion. The man then says one good thing; be open to new beliefs, and always be respectful towards other people and ideas. Then we parted ways. Odd man.
(oh also the business card had a link on it for this weird site with a 78 page book on costco's receipt checking called "costco is the government obedience training institution". The site also talks about 9/11 being fake and the earth being flat. Check it out and have a laugh at the silly tin foil hat people: http://earthlyfireflies.org/ If there are any issues with me posting that link, I will happily take it down. I just thought it would better show what this man was all about)
*the mask mandate in our city ended yesterday, and most people have thrown masks away.
