Okay, I'll try to keep this short, and I said "TRY" just in case I didn't the first time. I recently bought Monster Hunter World for my playstation 4, I know of the series existence for long time, but never had any genuine interest in it. Besides playing a demo on my wii u and feeling a bit lost and bored and fustrating, I haven't done much of that after. So This is my first time playing the game with full intention to enjoy it. Now there is some things that I do wish could be changed but I doubt it will, I'll just say what I find okay and what I wish could be better.
First off is the graphics, is not bad at all, something about the way the places look and feel is quite nice indeed. Not to mention this is one of those games that give you a option to decide if you want better graphics vs framerate. The only other game I know had that option was when I played Guilty Gear Xrd on ps3. There is a option for higher resolution, but since I don't have 4K tv I doubt is useful to me, (And yes I am running it on ps4 pro) the super sampling function added in the firmware update hardly seem like it works on my tv i guess, I dunno. The most amazing thing is how nothing ever pops in or out of the screen like the game tries that seemless loading stuff. One thing I do not like is how small the font is on the screen. Just like I made the complaint about in Xenoblade Chronicles X, it seems to be here too. Least it has a option for a bigger font, but is not much to me. My TV sucks or my eye sight is just bad, and I wear glasses.
The music in the game is "epic" while I can't directly describe the music with more detail cause sometimes I don't really find it catchy or too appealing, not that it's bad, it's very situational for the most part and usually noticeable when I'm fighting a monster. Again, it's my first time playing this game, so I'm not familiar with any of the music the game has, but for a person who play many capcom games and enjoy various songs from their titles, I can only draw a blank. The thing I find annoying is that not all characters have voiced lines, and some of them that do like your handler during hunts sometimes don't say their lines. They have text on screen and say something short and not within context of the displayed text. I would have prefer they just say what is being displayed and everyone talks.
This is where the stuff I don't quite understand happens, during the game play. The three things I dislike about the game are as simple as they come.
Next is the enemies displaying life bars, some people may not care for this but I do. I want to know how much longer before the monster dies. It helps me mentally, knowing the intense parts of battle and the relaxing parts and help influence how I play during each battle. I can't even find out how long I spend during the mission until after I finish and get my results. I just want indicators for things.
And last, is this online mode. I get it, it's one of those games where it prospers by playing online all the time, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't have a option... SOMEWHERE to turn it off. The only way to disable online mode and set the game into offline mode, is to

- There is no way to pause the game as far as I am concerned.
- The enemies do not have their life bars displayed
- No way to turn off online mode.

- Put system into rest mode (force game to suspend)
- Can't connect to the server or internet
- Log off playstation network
