Heya, I saw a project by Xeeynamo called Hybrid-RSDK that allows you to play the remastered versions of sonic 1,2 and CD as one game like origins. This project has died since Xeeynamo got bored since not many people knew about it, I wanted to repair Hybrid-RSDK since it was ridden with bugs and then add 3 air support in any way I could. After having debates with axanery on how repairing alot of Hybrid-RSDK isn't a good idea for me, I have made a decision to remake it from scratch way more simpler and easier to do, as alot of the custom stuff in Hybrid-RSDK has been rendered obsolete by rsdkv5u and other modding tools (such as the ability to run multiple versions of the retro engine), for the time being I'm not too worried about adding 3 air support yet so I don't ask for that ATM, this is the rough idea for a new Hybrid-RSDK from scratch:
Should be an automated process of extracting level data and assets etc from all 3 rsdk files into a data folder (almost exactly the same as Hybrid-RSDK) but the data folder it all gets sent to is a v4 folder with no levels, but has premade stuff for sonic (maybe tails and knuckles) with abilities etc all pre-made in to avoid any issues with player stuff between versions, all the levels get sent to their respective level folders named after them with a custom gameconfig containing all the custom level stuff (again like Hybrid-RSDK) all being run by v5u so nothing has to get painstakingly translated or converted, it's just running on one version with support for previous versions.
