Nightdive Studios finishes the Turok trilogy announcing a remaster of "Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion"
Nightdive Studios has been hard at work with their remasters of beloved classic titles from the 90s and early 2000s. Just back in May we got the full release of the System Shock Remake from them, followed closely by the remaster of Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition, and today, they announce the long awaited conclusion to the Turok Trilogy, alongside their remasters of both Turok (also known as Turok: Dinosaur Hunter) and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil.
Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion was originally released for the Nintendo 64 all the way back in September, 2000, and while it wasn't as popular as the previous 2 entries of the franchise (more so Turok 2), it was still really well received, citing it as an overall improvement over Turok 2. Even so, Turok 3 was the one entry that hasn't seen a re-release in any form outside of its original outing in the Nintendo 64, and now thanks to Nightdive Studios, Turok 3 will have a chance to shine outside its 64-bit console prison.
The new remaster will feature the expected enhancements seen in the previous Turok remasters, like the use of their proprietary KEX Engine, improved first-person controls for modern controllers as well as multiple controller support with platform-specific features, upgraded gameplay, widescreen support, high resolution textures, enhanced lighting and rendering, up to 4K resolutions and 120fps.
Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion can now be wishlisted directly on Steam, though no official release date has been given, with only a "Coming Soon" date listed on Steam.
