The main reason why I personally use RetroArch over GENESIS PLUS GX and FCEUMGX is because Retroarch has Sound Filters and Overlays. Many thanks for this! Will try it out also, do you think Genesis plus GX and FCE Ultra GX emulators are on par with Retroarch or they lack some functionality of Retroarch?
How you bypassed automerge is beyond me.I also wonder if there is a community mod that might work well. Like for Plystation3 the official version also had tons of issues, but there are community Mods that fixed it…
Is this still the current status concerning Wii Retroarch?Really depends on you. RetroArch for Wii has been broken since 1.8.5.
So my advice is, use from 1.8.4 backwards.
BUT those versions are super old and quite buggy.
If you can tolerate sound noise in ALL your games, then use from 1.9.1 up till 1.12.X.
Avoid 1.13, 1.14, 1.15 and pretty much any future version... unless future proves me wrong and 1.16 is actually usable.
About Sega Genesis core, it's broken since 1.9.2
So, for that one use 1.9.1 or previous cores.
Yes. RetroArch-Wii is in my opinion unsupported now.Is this still the current status concerning Wii Retroarch?
Here, , it's mentioned RetroArch for Wii already gave issues after 1.7.6. Is that outdated info, or still holds truth as well?Yes. RetroArch-Wii is in my opinion unsupported now.
The updates are still coming in, but it behaves worse with each update.
Sometimes sound is broken, others overlays crashes the console, sometimes you can't save user settings, some cores are slow, and a lot more of other different problems regarding compatibility.
If you want to use RetroArch, utilize old versions and build your own "version" with different cores, which is the way I'm using it.
Or, utilize Hexaeco or utilize @SaulFabre's cores.

Is this @SaulFabre's core https://gbatemp.net/threads/mame-wi...rt-via-arguments-for-autolaunch-games.630959/ ?
I consider RA Wii 1.7.x (1.7.6 and 1.7.9 specifically) and 1.8.1 are way very, very stable.Depends. Not all RetroArch versions has the same issues. But it became a "general thing" from 1.10.X onwards.
1.9.X varies with issues.

Wii Retroarch 1.8.4
I'm still drowning a bit in all the information (this is all new to me). My wishes are to play NES, SNES, ColecoVision, C64 and Arcade (FBA, MAME 2003-Plus). Ideally with all the Wiimote, Classic and GC controller options.
So what I gather these seem to be the RetroArch options:
- official libretro (https://wiibrew.org/wiki/RetroArch_Wii). Issues since ~1.8.5, so need to pick prior (ancient) version (1.8.4 = 2020/01/17). See https://gbatemp.net/threads/archive-of-old-versions-of-retroarch-wii-ra-wii.607976/
- RetroArch-Hexaeco Emulators: https://www.gamebrew.org/wiki/RA-Hexaeco_Wii, https://www.gamebrew.org/wiki/RetroArch-Hexaeco_Emulators_Wii, https://gbatemp.net/threads/retroarch-hexaeco-emulators.600834/. "Simplified version of RetroArch Wii with extra features.". Last Updated 2023/04/27. I don't understand though why rahexaecowii.7z (from gamebrew) is only 7MB, and rahexaecowii_r2023-04-27.7z is 23MB...?
- MundoWiiHACK, can't seem to find details on this one...?
Am I getting close?

Tx, but Google Translate is making a mess of this. Is there an English summary somewhere? Or it's basically https://www.gamebrew.org/wiki/RA-Hexaeco_Wii ?

The 7z file on gamebrew contains two versions, dated 2023-04-27 (4.33MB) and 2023-02-09 (2.77MB).
