As stated the DVI standard doesn't carry the audio signal. Only possible solution is to use 2 cables. One for video and the other for audio. However, if the DVI port supports HDCP, audio out of the port could be possible with some configuration. Seems like it could be limited to onboard connections though as it requires the DVI port to be configured as HDMI in the motherboard BIOS. If it's your monitor that has the DVI port and not a pc it's likely not possible and 2 cables are required due to HDCP standard. You would need an HDMI audio extractor.
