Review Approach:

I've played a few Grand Strategy games before (specifically Paradox ones). I had a lot of fun with Europa III but I found it almost impossible to keep my kingdom together! Then I heard Crusader Kings II was easier than it's counterparts so I took the dive to find out if it was just as good...
Take your chosen dynasty to greatness
First Impressions
I'm not going to lie. You will be overwhelmed at first! Sure their are the in-game hints... but they're nothing more than that. But as you start to learn what button does what you'll feel more comfortable and then the challenge of learning how to play the game well begins!

Verdict

What I Liked ...
  • Tens and Hundreds of hours of game play
  • Deep game mechanics
  • Great game soundtrack
  • Great multiplayer withs friend over Lan or Online
  • Great mods and their is capacity for many more
What I Didn't Like ...
  • Complicated game mechanics
  • Time consuming
  • Not for everyone
  • Insubstantial DLC
8
Gameplay
You'll find yourself setting goals and setting them in motion. Managing your dynasty/vassals will keep you occupied most of the time but be prepared for periods of waiting for plans to execute.
7
Presentation
Great music soundtrack and fits the game/time period perfectly! Sounds effects are fine nothing special. Graphics are not modern standard but for a game like this they never where the main point
10
Lasting Appeal
Once your done with one campaign it's time for the next one! Not only that but brilliant mods give this game more depth and/or gameplay!
9
out of 10

Overall

I've put around 50 hours into this game and I plan to put many more in!
