Is it just me or are download speeds for the Switch absolutely garbage? I get like a fifth of my total internet speeds over Wifi (15Mbps down vs 80) so I picked up a usb c to Ethernet adapter. I figured Nintendo just used the cheapest possible Wifi chip when designing the Switch but Ethernet would be better.

With that I get a whopping quarter of my total internet speed (20 vs 80). This is (barely) an improvement but still less a third the speeds my desktop gets connected to the same network. Anytime I need to download anything (e-shop games, patch updates, etc.) it usually takes days at these speeds.

I've seen people say they get as high as 120Mbs. I'm guessing they have gigabit internet so a 90% speed hit still works out to 100Mbs+.

some ppl use 90dns on emunand, which throttles connections. but as for ofw and not using 90dns, not sure. my switch dl speeds dont differ much from my pc.

The Switch's Wi-Fi card is pretty subpar. That's why I stick to USB installation.

As noted, the Switch WiFi can't do high throughput. I can get ~48 Mbps on the Switch WiFi while other devices can get 300 - 400 to my local server. With a wired network adapter I can get the switch up to ~400 Mbps to my local server.

@Xdqwerty there is health behaviour you can add to your character, then to use a health bar is lil more complicated, google n watch a few tutorial video on it, be too hard to explain here.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, the character has the health behavior
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I know you have to create a health and health max variable. Then there is a calculation you use in code to subtract width size of the health bar. Google few vids.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, the "greenflatbar" is one of the preset health bars btw
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea you can use any bar/sprite. It will just change the width. Ok good luck and have fun. I'm off to go shoot some pool at the bar. Talk to you later.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, why does the health behavior exist if you can just use a variable?
