PROBLEM SOLVED!!! Move along folks, move along...

Hi guys, I just hacked a new Vita I got in the mail. Everything is fine except for this issue. Even in full screen mode, the game/image is "widescreen" with black bars above and below the image of the game. And in Normal screen mode, the image doesn't even stretch to the top and bottom of the scree. See screenshots below.

So, I deleted Adrenaline from my Vita (which came through Vita Deploy with the hack, downloaded Adrenaline from GitHub, installed it and it's the same damn thing. This is the first time I have EVER had any issues with a hack. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you!!!

That seems pretty much like it is intended.
The lower pic is the correct aspect ration. The resolution from most PS1 games is 240p or 480i. The native resolution of the Vita is 960 × 544 pixels.
In case of PSP games via Adrenaline, that is ideal, as then the native PSP resolution is exactly 2X increased to match the Vita. with other resolutions you either have bars or ugly stretching.
Also see, if you are playing the PAL or NTSC version of the game, rather take NTSC, so the regular USA version.

You can also try the Retroarch Playstation emulation core(s). That might use different ways to set the screen, like filters and compatibilities might also be different.

Sonofabitch Evil, you were right! (Kind of)...

So CRASH BANDICOOT looks like that on my other Vita, however, the PlayStation game LOADED IS full screen, see below.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! Actually, there wasn't a problem to begin with, my bad.

As you can see, Loaded plays full screen while Crash is "letterbox".

Thank you Evil, that was a great observation you made.

Cheers Mate!!!

Use custom and try adjusting it yourself.
Great idea! But it's no longer necessary. Thanks for your input!!!

@Xdqwerty there is health behaviour you can add to your character, then to use a health bar is lil more complicated, google n watch a few tutorial video on it, be too hard to explain here.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, the character has the health behavior
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I know you have to create a health and health max variable. Then there is a calculation you use in code to subtract width size of the health bar. Google few vids.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, the "greenflatbar" is one of the preset health bars btw
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea you can use any bar/sprite. It will just change the width. Ok good luck and have fun. I'm off to go shoot some pool at the bar. Talk to you later.
    +1
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, why does the health behavior exist if you can just use a variable?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
and nope the number still doesnt change
