Most of the things I've found were curious bugs for example the .cue / .bin I've used to convert in .vcd for my ps2 works fine in .vcd with opl on my ps2 but if I burn these .bin / .cue files on a cd-r and launch it on the ps2, the musics are not in the correct order...
Try downloading a known good .cue from Redump's website, and open it in a text editor to enter the correct names for all the .bins

Finally, I've tried to convert my.vcd file (the file I've tested on my ps2 with opl) to an .iso file with MagicISO and same result, I've got a black screen...
I doubt that program supports the PS2's VCD format - it probably means a split-track bin by that (which equals one title in a Video CD)

And yeah, if you reasonably believe you correctly converted the game but it still doesn't work, experiment with Popsloader (make sure to turn off cdda_enabler, it's designed for the newest version of pops)

Yeah I know I mean I’m I better on ofw 6.60 or 6.61 with cfw?
There are other CFWs out there, but for simplicity's sake here are some basic instructions to get you up and running with the most popular setup for your model:

1. Install 6.61 OFW
2. Run the PRO-C2 6.61 CFW installer.
3. Run Infinity and select PRO CFW to make it permanent.

If you have problems installing CFW you should make your own thread though as this is one for creating PSXPSP eboots.

There are no functional differences for PS1 games as far as I'm aware. This page has a list of other differences.

For the best PSXPSP compatibility you should install the Popsloader plugin. This will let you run PSXPSP games using older Pops versions. Some games (although very few) may only work on older versions. I don't have a link for this so it's something you're probably going to have to search for.

Hi, no matter what I try when I start PSX games no input is recognized.
I've installed Popsloader v4, activated the plugin but i'm stuck on the start screen of every game.
I'm on CFW 6.60pro

EDIT: NVM, figured it out, had to disable Joysense for POPS. Leaving this here if someone has the same issue in the future!

This is probably a long shot but I wonder if anyone has had any luck making an eBoot for Kaze no Notam - Notam of Wind. It's a multi-track disc with data and audio. I've managed to create a single BIN file that works in an emulator, but even with various advice here and numerous permutations of eboot creation attempts and various VSH setting on my multiple PSPs failed to boot the game.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem possible without obtaining a rip in .CCD (CloneCD format), and no one rips in the .CCD format anymore.

https://github.com/pseiler/popstationr#nice-to-know

You might be able to do this by burning a BIN CUE rip to a CD and ripping it as .CCD?

You can convert from bin/cue to ccd using DiscoHawk that comes with the BizHawk emulator. It supports discs with multiple tracks.
Also, if your game has libcrypt you can use https://github.com/Kippykip/SBITools
Thanks for the new info.

Used SBITools instead of DiscoHawk (because why download an emulator for just a tool) and successfully got Addie no Okurimono converted and working. Before the game would lock up on the main menu since the CDDA audio would play there.

My experience when converting:

The game did not like having the compression set low (like 0 or 1). The PSP kept locking up on a black screen when loading the game (compression set to 0 and 1) until the compression level was set to 9.

CDDA audio doesn't actually work. The game stopped freezing on the main menu, but wouldn't play the audio. Worked around this using CDDA Enabler v2 (gotta search for this yourself - won't link to that website). I'm sure Popsloader would work as an alternative, but the plugin is more convenient to use.

6.61 PRO
