xk3y xbox 360 red light

Hi, I'm getting ready to get rid of this xbox 360 slim with xk3y installed but I want to make sure everything is working correctly before I do. I have tested it out recently and everything seems to be working correctly, like pass through, loading games, xdg3 xgd2 have all played so far with no crashes. I was replacing the hard drive with a new one and noticed that there's a solid red light on the xk3y, I haven't had any issues with it working recently but I want to be sure it will be working if I do decide to get rid of it. Is this red light normal? I have another xk3y I normally use that doesn't have this red light visible, although it might be covered by the xk3y wrap so not totally sure. I included pictures of the console in question and the other one that doesn't have the red light. I didn't install the xk3y on the one with the red light but If I have to open it up to check it out I can.

edit: I tried using a disc during pass through and the console reboots gets stuck and keeps retrying to reboot.

As long as everything is working as it should, then it seems fine to me. My Xk3y ribbon cable connector broke on my board so mine is dead. If I may ask, what would you be wanting for the 360? I really don't need another Xbox 360 but would like to have another Xk3y. If not, I think I might just send mine out to be RGH'd. I already have one I bought on eBay, installed 2TB drive and loaded full of games.
Again, as everything is working I wouldn't worry.
