Becoming a comedian?

Anyone here one? :P Its something i really wanna do, i love making people laugh, im a clown wherever i go, i like to make people laugh. I'm always loud and just always opinionated about stuff, i wouldnt be the kinda subtle comedian. I'm a very blunt person and ill just say what people are thinking but are too afraid to say it.

Anyone got any tips?

you think you can pull off a full fledged, say, 20 minute show?

then you should contact some guys running a bar or something and ask them to perform for an evening or two. just to get used to things.

probally but i wouldnt know where to start. Like writing jokes and stuff, im one of those guys who just loves to rant about stuff and it seems to make people laugh.

ok.

lets say your maintheme is transportation, you rant the full program like gas prices and traffic jams etc. then you compare it to something which seems completely unrelated at first. like working in the office, how there are traffic jams waiting for the copier and skyrocketing coffee prices etc. (just an example) but everytime you get back to your maintheme in the end.

just a suggestion... just like that...

YOUTUBE is the way to go!!!

well a lot of people show off whatever talents they have/havent got on there :)

at least then by number of hits/comments you can see how well your doing :)

Knowing you jaxxter, I wouldn't recommend it... (I was just kidding :ninja:)

I would also recommend starting at jewtube, butt... it's always better to actually start from clubs, that is IF you have what it takes.

For some reason, British comedians are inclined to perform in drag. I'm not sure why (although with Graham Chapman, it was understandable.)

Open Mic nights are the best place to start, I used to know a girl who was a comedian (not a famous one) and she just hit evey open mic possible until people started recognizing her in town. Once you start getting known locally you can start asking around for bookings.
