Birthday planning

Just started to plan what I'm going to do for my birthday. Usually I have a BBQ at home with friends and family, but this year, no family and a lot of my close friends won't be there... Anyway, I decided to go with the usual BBQ party, but it seems that most of my friends (close and not so close) are REALLY busy these days... Sad, isn't it ? For the first time I decided to create a Facebook event to manage everything, but finally it's worse that the other years (normally I call people the day before the party, or the same same day). So I might do something different. Since there won't be a lot of people, I think I'll organize a dinner at home. It demands a lot of work, but I really like cooking. I'll just invite people I really want to see (about 9-10 person). Here's my "beta menu" :

Starters :
-Homemade guacamole and nachos
-Smoked herring mixed with cream cheese, with crackers
-Cherry tomato and mozzarella with basil and olive oil
-Maybe some margarita cocktails :grog:

Appetizer :
-Carrot pottage with a little bit of curry and cream

Main dish:
-Veal with a morel dressing, potato gratin and green beans

Dessert :
-Vanilla ice cream with roasted pineapple seasoned with vanilla and cinnamon, with a biscuit

What do you think about the idea ? Lot of work but only close friends, or trying to find a compromise and do a BBQ with everyone?

Me, Orc and you should all meet up and celebrate our birthdays together.

Then there would be a party.
