Boot me, I dare you!

Alright so when I say, "Boot me...", I don't mean you guys just try to boot me offline because I am sure some of you can do this. This is for the COD, GTA, or any other online game players. Let me tell you a story, k? I was on a Black Ops 2 game when a kid threatened to boot me of because I hardscoped. Now please don't go as low as to threaten to boot simply because you died or got killed in a cheap way. That is a scumbag move and you should be ashamed. This kid told me my IP and my address and said he was gonna boot me. I got his IP and his internet provider. He didn't think I could do much with that did he? I called up his provider gave them the address and they dealt with it. The idiot kid was sending packets using his own private ip not even a bot net. So I may have gotten him in trouble. Guys, don't try me on COD. I have scared so many people with this tactic and if you are a CFW/OFW user going through the same thing I recommend you do what I did or atleast scare them with it. Share me you're booting stories plz.

Its what little kids do to basically shut off you're internet for a small period or long period of time.

Is when they kick you from a game, usually online lobby. That is booting. Usually if a lobby is full and want new player cause the current ones aren't leaving, you can boot them from the lobby to get more in place.

Of course others boot for reasons like the OP mentioned. Disputes between bad players, or just bad connections (Lag and bad gameplay)

@Sonic Angel Knight Thats not really booting. Thats just host kicking people. Booting is constantly sending packets using you're IP or using a bot net (someone else's IP address).

It's called a DDoS, they start sending data to your computer and using up all your bandwidth. Yes, it's illegal, and classified as terrorism.

@OP, this is why I use a VPN

Oh well excuse me then. Perhaps not the same where i am from. That what i get told a lot so i dunno. Anyway i dunno why this would be done. Gaming disputes can be solved by just turning the game off. Or playing with someone else. Is not ragequitting, just moving forward. I do it all the time when i play games. playing black ops 2 i play online sometimes, then when i am done, i leave and play by myself. Or something else :P

Same with any game. Personally i hate playing with strangers part of online gaming, so i usually play alone unless i can find good company. :)
