Beat me to it.

I lost interest before I even finished the demo. Though the demo WAS pretty long. I was playin' for like 3-4 hours.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is pretty cool. I've clocked at least 30 hours in and I'm enjoying it.

Waiting till I get the Steam version before continuing though due to achievements and such. Yeah, they're that big of a deal for me. And this game is awesome enough to support the developer.

Not every RPG has to be the boring and tried-and-true formula. I'm loving the dystopian cyber-punk vision of future, the combat system is reminiscent of the first game but vastly improved to fit today's standards, the cover system works amazingly well, the augmentation system is simple and straight-forward, the maps are well-designed and allow multiple approaches and so-far, the story is interesting. If you don't "like" it then you simply don't have a taste for Western RPG. We "Western RPG Lovers" don't need princesses or knights to have fun - all we need is a bad-ass cyborg.

Human Revolution is more than a worthy sequel to the series and grasps its spirit perfectly, as of today, I am totally hooked.

Woah. I'm pretty sure both of us never said Western RPGs are bad. We said DEHR is bad. I don't feel as if it's a worthy sequel to Deus Ex is all. That game was the shit.

Someone mad. I enjoy several wRPGs. Just, only the fun ones. I liked the setting of HR, but it quickly became boring, typical and irritating to traverse. Building your character was pretty uninteresting and boring. The story wasn't good, Combat was pretty terrible, the AI was moronic.
Fallout was certainly not perfect, but NV is a heeeell of a lot funner than DE:HR.

Oh, I'm not going to take away points from New Vegas, probably the best Fallout game in 3D that ever existed or will exist, but Deus Ex is a completely different universe and a completely different concept of gameplay. If I were to compare Deus Ex and Deus Ex 3, I'd choose 3 any day - the first part was plagued with "rushed development issues", its sequel - the Invisible War was... rather meh to say the least. 3 is where it's at for me.

Don't get me wrong, I played DEHR all the way through, it just didn't connect to me very well. Or a lot of people, according to the internet.

Be hardcore - play Deus. Better yet, Robinson's Requiem. :P

No affiliation, but those two started the whole "FPS RPG Combat Simulation" genre... and before Deus Ex 1, they were pretty much the only two examples of said genre since they were purposely insanely difficult and people didn't have the patience to play them at the time. :P

I love you for posting a link to that song. The New Black Gold is his best song.

I literally just got this on loan from a friend. I'm gonna go play it after this post.

Looks like a game with flaws but overall a lot of people did like it and felt it was definitely more satisfying than Invisible War.
