Hello !
Long time I didn't post my cakes here.
I thought it would be nice to post the one I did recently.
Muffins with nuts and crumble
Ok, the first one will be hidden because I completely messed them ahah !
I went to a Starbucks coffee for the first time and thought their muffins were delicious
So I wanted to make some which looked like theirs, and found a recipe on internet.
So I tried it but I didn't follow the recipe correctly as it was for too much muffins at once. I tried to cut the quantities by half, but it didn't end great.
I also used paper cup, which was a bad idea!!
Paper cup were too light; the dough was too liquid, the combo wasn't a great idea.
BUT, the taste was great
At least, some of them didn't break.
So, I decided to start again with the right quantities, and the result was a lot better !
the dough was more solid, and it inflate nicely.
they were very good .. the first day.
Unfortunately, it didn't age very well, and they were a little dry the other days. But there were too many to eat on a single day. That's great if I made them for other people, but as I'm alone it wasn't a great idea to make so much at once.
Tiramisu
I made a tiramisu for my birthday, and brought it to my work.
They liked it very much, it's really different than the industrial ones or the (supposedly) "home made" served in restaurants.
I guess I didn't take a picture, too bad for you
Edit:
a colleague took a picture !
not the best tasting picture, but you can have a look :
Choux à la crème
Well, I wanted to bring some Choux à la crème to my work place.
Here some pictures before and after baking them.
I made another batch with a smaller size. I also used another tool to make them a little nicer.
I still have to practice, making the choux is not the easiest.
I didn't take a picture of the creme, but you wouldn't see it once inside anyway.
My work colleague ate them quickly and hoped I had made more...
Brioche
Yesterday, I decided to try a Brioche for the first time.
We never made any before because it requires a lot of time (3-4H, sometime 24h as you need to continue the next day).
This one required 3h30
I made it all by hand (I don't have a robot to mix the dough). It wasn't easy as you have to mix (knead?) for 20mins.
I made some muscles ! haha
That's all for now.
I hope you liked this new cooking blog (well, I do, I could eat them!)
