Final Fantasy V is my favorite.. love the job system in that game.

X is my fave FF game and 2nd fave game of all time behind Zelda OOT.

VII I think the ppl that call this game overated are overated themselves. It was really good for its time and still is today although I got to disk 2 on my PSP and haven't played in several weeks...

VIII is the first FF game I played. When I was about 9 or 10 I just went to a 2nd hand shop saw FFVIII and thought hmmm wonder what this is like. Tried it and loved it.

FFCC RoF and FFIV on the DS come joint place to me as I loved them both as much as the other.

These are the only FF games I've played.

I really wanna play through V, VI, and Tactics... however, do you guys recommend I play the PSX versions for V and VI, or the GBA versions? And for Tactics, should I play the PSX version or "War of the Lions"? (PSP version)

From the "main" series, Final Fantasy V by far. From the spin-offs and related titles, FFTA. I never got to play FFTA2 much.

FFT for PSX and PSP are exactly the same I believe. Except, PSP has 1 new job from what I've heard. You can also play against someone local wireless. I've always wished for that option since the PSX era. But I gotta be honest. I hate the FFTA series. I regret buying the DS version 'cause I won't play it even if I paid for it. The experience is just too different.

So, I HIGHLY recommend FFT (not fftA; gba+ds series). The story is incredible. Involves a lot of betrayal and stuff. But just gotta let you know. It becomes extremely easy near the end IF you choose to play with the strong characters. If not, you can give yourself quite a challenge. I remember there was a boss battle that took my weeks to beat without a strategy guide in mid game.

Do NOT watch the video though if you do not want to be spoiled on how to beat him. I beat him purely on skills but it involved a LOT of fidgiting and thinking. I went through weeks of trial and error. But man, it was sooooo satisfying after I came up with such a strategy to beat him. (mine strategy totally different from the video anyways)

FFVIII was pretty much my all time favourite.

Kingdom hearts is pretty much a Final Fantasy spin off and is a great game too....

and, Chrono Trigger may as well be a final fantasy game.... (plays the same style, made by the same people.... hmm.....)

FF7 is hyped up too much imo.

Final Fantasy VIII[Personally it is still my favorite, even though I can't get past disc 1, when I played it on an actual PSX, we had no memory card ]

Final Fantasy I[GBA remake I & II were really fun, even though I'm stuck in FFII]

I haven't played many FF games though, or I can't complete most of them.
