Found a dead Cat

Hey ppl,
Just found a dead cat on my way to work .... I was riding my bike as allways and saw something black next to the street ... upon crossing that black thing I noticed it was a Cat and I was rather "shocke", not that it was looking disturbing or anything (looked pretty much in one piece) but I have two cats myself and seeing that cat there made me really sad.

Before I could think again I was already gone a few meter and was thinking if I should go back and look if it is really dead or if it could be rescued.
somehow I made me think "there is no way it is still alive and I need to go to work".

Now I am really sad and angry with myself that I didn't look especially as I can imagine how hard it must be for the Cats family especially if it could have been rescued :(

I will go check it on my way back in 6 hours ... I really hope the cat is either really dead or only sleeping so that it didn't have to fight for its life while I just crossed it withouth helping ;(

When I went back after Work someone else probably took the Cat away already.
No idea what happened to it but I guess someone brought it to a Vet or something so that they can try to find the owner and or dispose the body :/

At least my two cats don't go outside so they should be rather safe .... still my moms cat died not to long ago inside as something fell on the cats head while playing around. It is devasting when part of your family (even if it is "only" a pet) dies, and even harder if it is not a natural cause.

I've seen dogs and cats a few times.
When I was a 13 yo boy scout, I once found the decomposing corpse of a reasonably big dog in the woods we were exploring under a highway bridge. Someone had thrown the poor thing from the bridge. :'(

You reminded me one one time I killed a kitten by mistake....


I often find Dead cats around since there are many stray cats where I live and even more moron drivers.
I usually remove bodies of dead cats from the road and respectfully place them closest to a tree root so they're in some way still alive in that tree.
So one time, I noticed a very small kitten trying to cross the street and I stopped by the side of the road to help it.
I got it to the other side and went back to my car seat, only to notice it went off the curb and going towards my car.
Fearing for its safety, I put it even further away from my the back of my car and rushed back to drive away while it actually went under my tires.
It was sadly crushed under my car when I tried to move away and I ended up removing it just like any other dead cat.

It got me so depressed that night I had a dream about it that night.
I've became another moron that killed a poor little kitten.

I am so sorry, I have seen dead cat :( including my own ones. first one was my mother's cat that got hit by my school bus. then like few years ago, my cat dropped dead :(
now, I am keeping my cats safe indoors.
