So my girlfriend bought me a $129 coffee mug...

She got her tax refund of $4,000 and got me the Ember 2 adjustable heat 14oz coffee mug. I'm new to this thing, but of all the ones I've researched on Amazon, I kept coming back to it. It's gonna be weird not microwaving hot water in the mug directly anymore, I'll have to get used to that... But I have high hopes that this thing will be my new best friend.

I spend many hours at my PC, and had a coffee warmer under my mug, but it always timed out after 30 minutes, and sometimes it takes me a few hours to get through a cup of coffee. What's nice is it has a battery in the base of the mug, and when you lift the mug the battery takes over and can heat the mug for about 2 hours without the base.

We ended up buying it from Verizon's website for only $107 after shipping and tax, so we saved some money that way. EMBER GANG, RISE UP! :toot:

It's amazing how corporations over the decades have brainwashed people into becoming nothing but mindless spending cows! Training you to place desire over necessity.

yeah, let that soak in.

You know what you didn't spend $107 on? An IRA, a 401k deposit or something similar, or maybe like a kids college fund whether its your kid's or a little sister's or brother's....

There's nothing wrong with people "treating" themselves with something desired, as long as the necessities have been taken care of, which NOBODY has (aside from maybe those who have extreme wealth and NO debt)

... so with that, enjoy your over priced (by at least $80) coffee mug.. im sure that heating element was NOT made in china and will last for years! :rolleyes:

Mar10 Day sucked; so many rubbish games, and none of the greats have been released on the Switch yet - we don't have 64 DS, Super Paper Mario, 3D Land, NSMB2, Super Mario Land, or M&L: Dream Team on it.

The best one we do have isn't even a "Mario" game - it's Luigi's Mansion 3. So...fail.

My goal in life is to live as comfortably as possible, removing the minor annoyances from my life (Like my coffee going cold due to an auto-shut off), and keep bettering myself. And as long as my bills are paid, where the fuck do you get off USUKDecks? Like, holy shit, that was just completely uncalled for. You called me out on the rug as if you know my life or financial situation.

Tell your girlfriend to drop a dependent on her W-4, or something. She's giving the government too much of her money throughout the year, if she's getting a $4000 tax return. Jesus. After I do my tax paperwork I almost always end up sending the federal government and my state a few hundred each every year. Why should I let them hold my money on deposit for months, earning interest?

I'm not saying don't pay taxes. But anything you're getting back as a tax return is money you overpaid.

Mt girlfriend claimed her daughter who recently moved out and turned 18 last year. So we got her as a dependent for last year. But she does claim zero on her checks, so we can have a fluffy tax return at the end of the year. We look forward to it.

@jayro, if she's aware and doing it by plan, that's her business. Just wanted to say, she's letting the IRS withhold $333 more a month than she needs to, in a zero interest savings account.

I like the mug btw. I end up drinking a lot of cold black coffee, could use one of those.

@Jayro I prefer Bushells Blue Label, myself, though Earl Grey isn't bad (haven't had it in quite some time).
And a couple years ago, I had a phase where I liked flavoured teas from Twinings - for example, Camomile, Honey & Vanilla; Pure Peppermint; Strawberry, Raspberry & Loganberry; etc. Most of them were at least decent.
