Homebrewing = stress

In the last few years I've suffered hard drive crashes, major virus scares and every other computer problem imaginable, so no surprsie I've started becoming a little paranoid when it comes to my loved electronics. When I finally got Twilight Princess i was exstatic to finally try the Homebrew Channel i heard so much about. I was mainly gonna use it to play DVDs and run games from other countries, but lately its become so much more.

In the last few weeks, ive started using it to run backups and now this USB Loader, I guess the thought of being able to run all your games without disks really appealed to me, but lately my wii has driven me to the peak of stress, If I want to run GC backups I gotta use DVD-Rs and run miospatcher, if I want to use the USB launcher I got to patch IOS's. I guess the thought of losing my Wii, my Miis, my svaed games and all my downloads scares the shit outta me. It may sound stupid but a few nights ago I woke up screaming after a dream of turning on my Wii and getting the dreaded Opera message.

I always read through tutorials like 2-3 times, asking questions if i'm not sure and yet I still cant convince myself my Wii is fine, I guess those stupid corrupted error messages I got on the disc channel before patching IOS60 really got to me and my nerves. I feel like with all the patching of IOS's and other things i've done, i've dugged myself into a hole that I cant get out of without killing my poor Wii.

:wacko:

Its gotten to the point where i'm continously turning on my Wii checking the disc channel and other channels to continue assuring myself that its fine yet its not working

:cry:

Yeah I admit that does sound stupid, but that dosent stop the fact how paranoid I am over bricking my wii

I get the same sometimes about my TV, Computer etc.

It sounds pathetic when other people hear about it but it actually scares you >>

I've gotten a bad semi brick before... once it happens, you don't get scared as much, because you know how to fix it...

it took me 3 days to get my Wii back up and running... and it was a SaveMiiFrii that fixed it...

Now I always make sure Preloader is installed before I tempt fate... I've had 3 banner bricks since then, and just uninstalled the bad banners quite easily!

You're not living up to your name! Someone calling themself "EnigmaXtreme" should live life to the eXtreme!!! with no fear of 'radical' changes to their Wii. Seriously, even if it fully bricks you can get it back to Nintendo and have them repair it. So go for the eXtreme, and stop wetting your bed. :grog:
