Actual Operational time ? I do not know it exactly.

I suppose: On average every day 2-3 hours I think (sometimes 6-8 hours, then often a few days are not turned on/a few Minutes for checking E-Mails)
since 2014......

What "work" does the PC have to do?

- a little Internet with an 3G Mobile Modem connected to an TP-Link Router V1.
- a little more Video Editing/Converting/Playback.
- a little much more Homebrew for the Wii/PSP/& DSi actual.
- a little much, much more for playing Games.
I do not need of 8k and that stuff.1280x720 is good enough for me and an the 9 year "young" Toshiba 32"LCD.

I just wanted to say it.:)

Of course i can make Photos. :D

Thank you for Reading and your time,my GBAtemp friends.:)

Hello.:)

Today where a good and sometimes not so good Day for my PC.

The Mainboard got a Change:

From OEM MSI-7634 to Gigabyte GA-H55M-USB3.For free.
(Picture in the FIRST Post).

As the Description says with USB 3.0 on Board. Also faster SATA,a Floppy and IDE Connector and a BIOS with many Features than the MSi OEM Board.:)
All went smooth,all works great.:)

Windows 10 x64 Pro boots up all went fine......
(I think you know what happens next....)

"Windows can not be activated, you do not have an Digital License.......but you are welcome to buy a new License at the Store"
*sigh*

Yes, my Friends, unfortunately I completely forgot that the License is tied to the MSI Motherboard´s BIOS.
No Chance anymore (Yes,I have tried the Problem Assistent, told him,I made an Hardwarechange,ok,No Devices connect to your Microsoft Account.....but you are welcome to get a new License at the Store....."

My Windows 10 License is now lost.....that happens if buy a Microsoft Product.:rofl2:

Never mind, a Tool has fixed that in within 10 Seconds.:P

Thank you for Reading.:)

Hello.:)

With the "new" Mainboard came a challenge of a different kind.
I have noticed this just Yesterday.

The CPU and Case Fan are out of Control.....

Before and also now I used SPEEDFAN for controlling/managing the Fans.I have set different Profiles and achieved a constant Temperature of 60° under full Load on all 4 Cores.

Since the Change of the Mainboard, the PC is a little like "sleeping Beauty".
For the main Time I use the other PC (Dual Core 3.4 Ghz/where all the Video Consoles related Tools/Progams are on).

Yesterday I would to watch my "Fu Manchu" DVD Box,where 2 Versions on every Disc.
I wanted to make MP4 Files of it.For this I want to use the PC from this Blog.

For enconding I use Wondershare´s Ultimate (now Uni) Converter.

As the Encoding starts,I waited a few Seconds before I want to leave the Room and was a little surprised, that on FULL LOAD I heared no FAN Noise (and Case Fan is normally an Aircraft Unit under full load...

The CPU Temperature rised up to 70 ° with ascending trend.....

I stopped the Enconding and "consulted" SPEEDFAN.All ok,FAN Profiles were there,Temperature curves are set,all set correct.

Started Encoding again,same....
Helplessness slowly spread...

Checked BIOS Settings,uninstalled/installed Speed Fan again, set new Profiles and set new Temperature Curves.

Started Encoding again....same.The Fan´s are not "responding".....

Started a few Games (F1 2019/Shadow of the Tomb Raider/Resident Evil 2 Remake).

Suddenly the Fan´s are on 100 Percent......
Noise and Helplessness again.....

Then I tried it without the Speed Fan Tool....same Effect.

The Fans are working but only on 0 or 100 Percent. The Fans ARE really on 0,the stand still !

But all this worked before on the old Motherboard....
The Fan´s was raised slowly but constantly and the maximum Temperature at Full Load was 61°.And they NEVER run on Full Speed (CPU 95 Percent / Case 75 Percent)

There was no Alternative,I had to go in the "technical Settings" of Speed Fan.
And there it was.Under "Advanced" and Chiip Settings:

PWM 1 Mode - SMART Guardian
PWM 2 Mode - SMART Guardian

Really ? I was pretty sure in MY Profles it was set to "Software Controlled"......

Now the Fan´s are "under Control".

In IDLE State 30/30
It raises with more Temperatue and
under full Load.
CPU 100 Percent
Case 75 Percent

Maximum Temperature 60°

Update after exact one Year.:)

The PC is still running fine.
The System SSD is still working without any Issues.
For the Second HDD it changes between 4 HDDs in the Meantime.

- 1 TB Western Digital WD10EURX SATA Green (Downloads/Tools etc.)
- 1 TB Western Digital WD10EZRX SATA Refurbished (Steam Games)
- 500 GB Western Digital WD5000AAKS SATA Blue (GOG Games)
- 500 GB Western Digital WD5000AAKX SATA Blue (Video Consoles)

The GTX 1050 Ti is still very brave and is completely enough for me.
I also used my LG GH22LS30 DVD-RW surprisely very often for reading older DVDs and copy Data over.It is still on
Firmware 1.01.

If I look back now after many Years and many "Changes",the Components that are still "original" are

- The Case
- The Power Supply (yes, that is really Quality made by Fujitsu/Siemens).
- The integrated Card Reader
:D

I will clean the PC out in the next Days because of the Summer.
So,I hope it will be work for another Year without Issues.:)

Thank you for Reading.:)

Hello.:)

Yesterday/today a little "Issue" with the CPU Cooler Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2:

P1370212.jpg

The Retention Module seems broken or melted, difficult to say.
So the CPU was not 100 percent "cooled" and the Temperature raised everytime when I opened a Programm/Internet and so on...
After last Night making "Issue Search" ending in really real big Headache around Midnight (installed a new Windows) I went to sleep.
Today in the Morning I opened the PC and found this.

Then I contacted the Arctic Support (Cooler has 6 Years limited Warranty) - very fast and nice - Replacement is on the Way.Very nice.:)

So,my Day start maybe not so good but turns into a nice one.
I wish you all the same,a really nice Day,my Friends

Thank you for Reading.:)

I kinda find it comforting that I'm not the only one using severely outdated hardware.

Then again, I don't have much upgradability with a laptop.

Hello.:)

Yesterday the free Warranty Replacement from ARCTIC arrived and all is ok and good now.
I have also finished the Software Installations and all is working fine again.
Tested some Video Encoding (all 4 Cores/8 Threads are working at 100 Percent for about 4 Hours) with near 40° outside the CPU´s maximal Temperature never exceeded 62°.

Thanks to the awesome ARCTIC Support.:)

Hello,my Friends, thank you for coming in.:)

Today I got the final, highest on GHz available CPU for the Socket 1156:

The Intel Core i7 875K

I got a Package from Willhaben.at (a very cool Guy,sent me the Parts for Testing without want Money/Payment before !!).
Putting the Parts in my Text PC Case and all is fine:

P1370247.jpg

P1370248.jpg

Attached was also:

A GIGANTIC Noctua Fan Thing......unfortunately to big/high for mit Midi PC but as yo maybe know,I got a Replace FAN from Arctic in the last Weeks,so for now this Fan is as a"Reserve".

P1370252.jpg

Also includes was a Soundblaster PCI-E Soundcard and 2x4GB RAM Pieces.

P1370251.jpg

Oh and of course this great but also too big for my Case Mainboard:

P1370250.jpg

So maybe I will make an Second PC with this Components using my previous CPU,the Intel Core i7 870.

In the Meantime,I "tortured" the new CPU a little:

Ohne-Timmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmtel-1.jpg

Using a Video Converter and converted a Movie so all 4 Cores/ 8 Threads are running on 100 Percent.
(as you can see on the right Bottom on "SpeedFan 4.52)
The Temperatur (outside it has around 37°....) never exceeded 69° with the Arctic Fan/Cooler and MX4 Termal Paste.
That is really ok.:)

Oh,and as you maybe also noticed,I have already overclocked the CPU to 3,5 GHz on all 4 Cores.
I am using the Intel Tool for the Overclocking.
If I raise the Multiplicator in the Bios from the Gigabyte Mainboard, the CPU is always running on full 3,5 GHz.

With the Intel Tool it goes on "Idle" if the CPU "has nothing to do"...I set it on 5% in the Energy Settings.
You can see the Idle State here with CPU-Z:

Ohne-jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj-Titel-1.jpg

I am really happy with it.:)

Thank you for Reading,my Friends.
Have a very nice Weekend and a good Time.
Enjoy it.:)

Hello.:)

Today my good old Buddy made another big Step:

P1010949.jpg

From the Gainward GTX 1050 Ti to the KFA2 RTX 2060 OC Edition.:)

Under Full Load it is getting a little "warm" (over the recommended 83° Limit...if MSi Afterburner reads correct).
I have customized the Fancurve and now am on the "Testing/Watching" Phase.

Honestly,I have the Fear,I have to change into a bigger Tower.....:(
And a bigger Power Supply....

I will keep you informed,if you like.
Thank you for Reading.
Have a very,very nice Weekend,my Friends.:)

I'm no PC expert, but you might not need a new case if you can control the case airflow better. Try to move air where the GPU fans are, so hot air doesn't just accumulate.

Thank you,my Friend.:)

A little Addition:

The Temperature is normal not more than 60°.

In my "Excitement" I did not noticed,MSI Afterburner has added the Power Limit to the Monitoring Graph and of course it was on
100 when the PC is under Full Load.:rofl2:

Time to get a little Rest now....:D

Hello my Friends.😉

I have some little Updates from my Senior PC.

Bought 2x4 GB 1600 MHz RAM
Unfortunately the Gigabyte Mainboard had some "strange Issues".
After installing the new Memory, the PC s no longer booting - No Signal.
And further, after reinserting the old RAM,also no Boot/No Signal....

Short Story - after 2 Days of trying really everthing (Different RAM,other CPU´s,Power Supplies,Graphic Cards,BIOS Reset/Recover,disconnected all Devices....)
I decided to change the Mainboard too,as said, the ASUS Maximus III Formula.
The new 1600MHz RAM is also not working, but finally my PC is "alive" again.

The only Thing I had to buy was an USB 3.0 PCI-Express Card.
AND surprisingly,Windows 11 was still activated ! What a Relief.😊

So my good old PC is still here and it is still Fun to work and play with it.

Thank you for your Time,my Freinds and maybe reading my short Update Story.

Have a very nice Time and stay Well,my Friends.
Heartly Greetings,Alex.😉

Hello.😉

Right before the Summer starts.....
News from the PC.
A new CPU Cooler has arrived:

Before:
ARCTIC Freezer 12 CO

IMG_20220614_112705.jpg

After:
ARCTIC Freezer i35 CO

IMG_20220614_120557.jpg

The CPU is happy now.😂💖

Otherwise everything is the same. No special "Incidents".

Thank you. for Reading.😉

Helllo,my still Blogreading Friends.😢

Frustrating and Stupid Day....

I want to make some Experiments with an Plextor PX-W2410TA CD-Burner a few Minutes ago.
YESS,CD Burner....and,for our younger Audience,with IDE Connector.

As you maybe remember,in September 2021,I have changed the Mainboard....

So,maybe I assemble another PC with an Core i7 870 and that Gigabyte Mainboard....and maybe with Windows 7 or better Windows XP,because I want to use some very old Tools (1998 - 2000).
And NO,I do not want to use USB - IDE Adapters, that is not "authentical" for my Experiments.

Have a very,very nice Weekend,my Friends.
Thank you for reading.💖👌

Hello fellow PC Fans.:)

Yesterday I have received my new Graphicscard, the KFA2 RTX3060 OC Edition with 12 GB Ram.

IMG_20221012_143759[1].jpg IMG_20221012_144053[1].jpg

I also forgot to mention,I have upgraded my Power Supply to an Enermax 700 W one a couple of Months ago.

So,very easy, after installing the latest NVIDIA Driver, powered down the PC and changed the Cards, more to do ?
Under normal Conditions - no...

But not yesterday....
No Signal on HDMi Port..
I remember I have read on the beginning of 2022 of many Users who had the same Issue after they upgraded to an RTX 3xxx Series Card.
What have they done to solved the Issue ?

- Some swapped the Card from the upper to the lower PCi Express Slot and back
- Some connected their Display / Card with both Ways (Displayport and HDMi)
- Some turned their PC first then the Display on
- Some had resetted the BIOS Settings
- Some pulled out the BIOS Battery
.....

First Thing:
I do not had a Display Port Cable or Adapter...until today.
Getting / buying such "unusual" Thing in my Surroundings was impossible yesterday....
So I ordered on Amazon and thankfully, today in the late Afternoon the Parts arrived.

Note:If you buy something "NEW" buy all possible Adapters / Cables at the same Time,otherwise...you have "No Signal" on your Display.🤣

With the Cable in my Hand,I tried all the Options above.Until ONE working Setup was left:
Putting the Card in the LOWER PCi-E Slot

P1370250.jpg

and using the Displayport to HDMi Cable to connect my Display.👌

Works.💖😉

Very happy about he Result I was waiting untul windows 11 found the Card....
Hmm...something was not correct..
Oh wait..the "awesome" Windows 11 has not detected the Card correct..only "VGA Thing" was represented in the Hardwaremanager....🙄

After installing the latest NVDIA Driver, everyting seems ok and now working.

Off to the Tests and Games now.....

Thank you for your Time and for Reading my Blogentry.
Until next Time,my fellow PC Friends.💖😉

Hello fellow PC Fans.😉❤️

This would be the last and final Update for my good, old PC.

Since the last update last Year, some Things has changed and upgraded.

- A BluRay XL Drive works since September 2022 - Hitachi LG BH16NS40 has replaced the DVD Drive.
- Windows 11 23H2 is still working without TPM / Secure Boot etc.
- 3 SSD´s are working inside

So...I got a "gift" from a Friend from Germany - An ASUS H170 - Pro Mainboard and 16 GB DDR4 Ram.
An CPU was attached too (Intel Core i5 6500) but I decided to upgrade to an Core i7 6700.
A new Tower Case,a stronger Power Supply, new CPU Cooler of course,an M.2 System SSD and my already in use RTX 3060 completes the Set.

That means....good bye my old Friend, you served me very, very well near 10 Years.❤️😉👍
(I will not "abandon" this great PC,but I will try to use the Windows SSD in the new PC and hope, the Licence remains still activated...)

Thank you for reading in this Blog,my Friends.
I hope,I will see you in my new Blog for the "new" PC.

Thank you.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
