Tempcast, Retro Review Thang & Temper Post

Hey what the fuck is up people? Hope you guys are doing well. Thought I'd update on a few things that'll happen this week.

Tempcast #6 should be happening this Thursday 10.30PM my time. That time isn't set in stone as it may move to later, we just need to here on Mr VV. We'll have a guest which is this guy, hopefully we'll get a good rant or two from him. I'm working on a little something for the intro but if it doesn't work then I wont air it but I am hoping for it to be at least mildly amusing.

We talked about what we wanted and expected from this years e3 in the last episode and again E3 will be the main topic for the next one. Reactions, thoughts & rants from the crew as you'd expect.

Retro Review #6 is still coming along, I have a couple reviews in already from sexy members and some from others on the way but time has been against me...and I deleted the reviews I wrote...shitness. Again if anyone wants to send anything shoot me a PM.

The Retro Review may continue as part of the Temper Post...if people want it back that is. JPH was meant to restart that but he went all full force a-hole on us so that never happened but I wouldn't mind getting it back up if I had a hand with it. Same stuff as last time of course, reviews from members, round up of the best news, topics and all that. I am intending to do a "Best of Wii Jan-June 09" style write up as I feel there has been a lot of titles that have been overlooked, that be in there but of course that depends on time.

Well thats it...have a nice day?

Who knows, maybe one day I'll bless you people with a new rap.

I've got a rant and a review written mate, I want to write a couple more though. I'll try and get em done today and tomorrow and send them to you.

Why's it always got to be in your time Hadrian? Why not my time, or mucus's time, or LolleyTheTrolley's time? :glare:

Anyways, I really want to catch this one. Who knows if I will. I missed #5, and I'm about to kill someone just for missing it.

Don't disappoint me DongHadrian.

@TD & Cocky: Don't worry about rushing them to me this week, I was meant to get my reviews done yesterday and today but I've just been relaxing. Its actually the first time in ages that I've had two days off in a row and I'm enjoying not doing anything and just running around like a twat with my kid. I wrote a review yesterday but I cant say I'm pleased with it.

I'm not gonna give a time or date to when I'll be posting this thing as I don't know when my next day off is but should be by the next two weeks...I hope ;)

No worries then mate, I'm gonna do some gaming on the SNES and the Saturn in a bit anyway, so I'll write up some reviews but I'll take my time with them.

I have never tuned in, mainly cuz I think this kind of stuff is junk. Then I found out it was all just you guys cussing and whatnot; made me not want to listen even more.
Now I hear that you guys are going ti tune it down a little, and even include the TrolleyDave in it!
I am going to tune into this one!

Many of the same issues can be seen for the insanely predatory healthcare and health insurance system in the US

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
It's important for society to be healthy and educated. If those things can't happen because all of the institutions that prop up those industries make it unattainable for all but a small portion of society, then your society is largely going to be disease ridden, dying, and uneducated in very short order.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Issue is it's too rich of a coperation already with bad sugar diets causing diabetes and killing teeth a new set of teeth around 90k
  • cearp @ cearp:
I agree it's not easy for the average American, let alone the ones below that average. Free / cheaper healthcare is much more important I think than free university education.
Of course like @mthrnite said, why not both. But I doubt both will get solved at once, and surely healthcare is top priority.

they go hand in hand unless you want a plumber performing your triple bypass
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Everyone should be Medicaid elegable for implants at the most
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
If it's needed to keep you healthy it shouldn't cost you $90k. The fact that it does is an enormous problem
  • mthrnite @ mthrnite:
but yeah, affordable is all i'm asking for
  • mthrnite @ mthrnite:
i'd be happy with affordable dentures
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
With my old dentist he even encouraged switching insurance every quarter
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
And if the concern is that "well we can't trust the government to intervene for this because the government can't do anything right and wastes tons of money" then holy shit push for a better government. I'm certainly trying to. Don't throw your hands up and go "we've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas"
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Plus technology cost iirc even a water jet drill is 1k per
  • cearp @ cearp:
@K3Nv2 that's crazily expensive. how long will that take to pay off?

Although diet is largely education, people don't need to go to university to learn what's healthy and what's not,
it's the whole country, big corporations and advertising that is to blame for leading most of the population to believe that poptarts and froot loops are healthy to feed a child
  • mthrnite @ mthrnite:
i would think the population knows better but with food deserts and abject poverty, sometimes a poptart gonna have to do.
  • mthrnite @ mthrnite:
it's a big ol complicated world innit

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
As someone who went through the grade school system in the US some time within the past 30 or so years, not nearly enough is done to promote and educate on how to eat healthy in a way that is feasible to do on a regular basis and also affordable. Eating healthy is, comparatively, fucking expensive. So is eating unhealthy, but in many cases eating unhealthy is more affordable than eating healthy

  • cearp @ cearp:
90k could get you a 3 bedroom house in some poorer parts of the country
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
@cearp, it's like buying a new car most dentists say so $250 per the rest of your life
  • cearp @ cearp:
    Jesus
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
These are actual implants to dentures though
  • cearp @ cearp:
Well once it's all done I'm sure you'll be happy with the result
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Just a flappity denture would probably be 5k
  • mthrnite @ mthrnite:
    sold
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
