Well unfortunately we are in a era of awful music. I refuse to listen to stuff like this or many things mainstream because they suck. They dont' care about music, they just want money, they make up the most trendy, catchy shit that will get people to like them and then they will disappear.

If I could continue to make music I like and never make it big I will be happy because I know my stuff is ten times better than that shit because my music has meaning and isn't for money.

I wouldn't call TDWP all trendy, but some of their songs partially are (You Can't Spell Crap Without "C", and a few others), but I like them because they don't follow the mainstream ways of metal bands auto-tuning their clean singer's voice, or trying to come up with a new fad...Plus I think they sound good (They can incorporate synth and make it sound good, unlike a lot of other bands, as well as come up with lyrics that actually have a meaning to them, which I like).

Also, I like music where you can distinguish one instrument from another, instead of music where it's all jumbled together and sounds like a 2-year-old produced it.

I just listened to their new single on my "On Demand" channel and I have to say, they are as trendy as it comes. They have songs structures like the all the rest of them. They go from really hard screaming and stuff to really whiny ass singing that is the most god awful annoying I have ever heard.

And how can you say their songs have meaning? Their song sames are called stuff like "HTML Rulez d00d", if I am not mistaken, that has no meaning whatsoever...

Yeah, thats basically like me only not as bad XD. I admit it all the time, my band that I am in is kinda trendy but we are different from most because we only have some elements of the trendy stuff. I am like you though, I'm always like "Kyle, if we ever sign to Victory Records or something, I'm out, I refuse to be on the same record label as a bunch of trendy stupid dumbass bullshit bands."

I mean, I listen to good metal (pantera, black sabbath, opeth, between the burried and me (dunno if thats really metal btw, but its similair to opeth imo) etc.)

But I also like these kinds of bands, Emarosa, devilwearsprada, attackattack, dance gavin dance, etc.
And even stuff like daft punk, justice and gorillaz..

Well, some of them do. I like "trendy metal" because it sounds good to me, and every person has their own tastes.

I'm serious about it because it makes a bad name for metal. When people are like "What type of music you listen?" I'm like "Mostly metal, but I listen to a lot of other things also." (Which I really do, I love a bunch of styles.) So they are like, "Oh so you listen to stuff like Bring Me The Horizon and The Devil Wears Prada and stuff?" I am like "... No, I listen to metal. That stuff is shit."

It seems everything is being ruined these days, radio used to be good until shitty new bands took it over and rap took it over. Now they have to take over Metal and make is shitty too.

Dammit, there's more than one type of metal...Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean you should go around bashing it like Mario does to blocks (Which is a whole fucking lot). I don't sit there and say, "Opeth is the scourge of all humanity" or "All black metal bands can die in a big fire" now do I? No, because I can actually accept other peoples' opinions, instead of automatically saying that those bands suck, without any reasoning besides *insert vague reason here*, which in your case, is that they are trendy.

Also, I hate BMTH...And don't say they sound like TDWP, because they don't.

How do you know all bands do it for money? That's a pretty arrogant statement. When and if I get into the Game Development industry, I won't be making games JUST for money...I will be doing it because that's what I do for fun. I love developing video games, just like some bands love making music. And what is real metal in your opinion? Music that consists of bands whose members wear black/white make-up, dance around in forests, and sing about Satan (The singers sound like they are constipated for crying out loud!)? Sorry if I sound rude, but you do as well.

if theyre signed on to a corporate label, thats pretty much screaming that theyre in it for the money...

Trendy metal ruined metal for me so much that all I listen to now are classical piano tracks.
