I've been thinking of trading my DS for a PSP

PSP

Pros:
Many good ARPGS
Good Graphics
Homebrew Has lotta potential
Better Media Support
GUI is nice sleek and fast
lots of good franchises kh ff etc
no need for extra hardware like flashcarts like ds

Cons:
Takes time loading the memory stick
some psps cant be hacked

noone will ever trade their PSP for a DS except if it's a DSi. good luck.

There are a lot of shops that might be willing to trade it.

I'd justsave up for a PSP, you wont get much for a DS. Also you'll have times where you crave a certain game, I did when I got rid of my 360 and PSP years back.

^^ What he said. The DS has at least three years of releases left. Look at how long GBA games kept coming out after the DS was released, and the next gen Nintendo handheld hasn't even been hinted at, except for one Japanese developer saying that it will have new features. They've sold something like 84 trillion DS systems, and that market will take a long time to go away. There are bound to be at least ten or fifteen DS games you really want to play in the system's remaining lifetime. If you sell your DS you will regret it.

As for getting a PSP, meh. If you want one, get one. I had a cracked PSP for a while, and the only thing I ever played on it was Genesis games on Picodrive. The actual PSP games generally didn't interest me, and the ones I was interested in all dissapointed. It does have better emulators than the DS though.

I wouldn't really advice trading a DS for a PSP.

Save your DS and get RPG Maker DS or save up some money and buy a refurbished PSP-2000 or 1000 from Ebay for $50-$100 US.

Yea, like everyone else is saying. Save the DS, you WILL eventually crave something that can only be had on DS.
Besides, you'll only get about $30 for it(unless it's a DSi) so it's not worth it.

I got £120 for my Wii. PSP Phat was £70 and I got four games.
Still I miss my Wii

The DS (especially with a flashcart) is a staple in the handheld gaming realm. Getting rid of it would be a mistake. As was already said, just save up and buy a PSP, then you will have both, and your library of games will be that much larger, not to mention not having any regrets later on.

I frequently go weeks at a time without touching my DS, then a new game comes along and I'm playing for hours. The same will happen with the PSP. If you have both, then you can at least switch-off between them during times when releases are slow.

But Yeah. GET a PSP but don't trade the DS for it. You won't get much and there will be some game that you want for it eventually. Just save the Ds and save up the cash for a PSP.

Just buy a PSP, dont trade it. I have went back and forth selling/buying between the PSP and DS it s not even funny. I finally just bought a PSP, and i'm done with it.

Had both the PSP and the DS. The only thing I've played on that psp was that wuxai game - Kingdom of Paradise. That's why I sold it - the only thing it was good for was emulating other systems.

Not really, I want Tekken, BBS, Dissidia, War of Lions, Crisis Core, and several others. But I guess I should save instead. I guess I'll have to lay of eating large sized foods for a while. Really, if it was just because of that I wouldn't ask here and just borrow one from one of my 50+ friends with PSP's.

Tekken fans say Tekken 6 for the PSP is bad. Though I've never played it.
Dissidia, you will get some good hours but the story line is just... bad.
War of Lions, you can just play the PS1 game.
Crisis Core... Let me get some words to describe it.
