England and USA Have Gone through!

England and the USA have gone through to the next round. The two main countries that use GBATemp (no offence, anyone else) have gone through. Capello certainly triumphed and that was a beautiful match. What did you think about it?

If you were to fill the squad with OAP's I'd still say England were gonna win. I'm realistic enough to know it probably won't be the case, but you gotta root for your team - it's where half the excitement comes from. Plus, if you can't cheer your own team on then why bother.
Red or Blue? please dont say red...

Blue mate, reds are for out of towners and trendies. Or as Danny put it "Reds are for Southerners and Chinese". ;)

And I'm talking about england! I don't like pricks that Time waste with the ball in the corner like that, it's not football it's simply being a dick.
If England don't improve and stop being dicks like that then I hope they get knocked out in their first match.

If thats not hating on England then I dont know what is, and as for me being a fanboy your're slightly wrong with that, I'm whats know as a fanboy and a supporter because I actually go to the match unlike you, because real supporters are fanboys, because if youre not a fanboy for your own team then you shouldnt even call yourself a fan.

@Trolly, only joking mate :)

At least take the time to read all the posts before responding :glare:

Yeah I agree far to much hate towards England, but it should really just be ignored as its all coming from trolling none football fans.
Real football fans wouldnt hate on England after a good performance like, instead they would feel happy and relieved that we actually won and got through to the knock out stage.
You can't call me a none football fan (as I am one "hating" on England), I've loved football as far back as I can remember and I used to play football very well for my local team and my school team, even as far as to be scouted along with a couple of old team mates until I gave it up (I still play for fun).
England DID NOT play a good match today.
The goal was alright, the defence did well John Terry and David James did a superb job but's that's all that was really memorable of the match nothing else really stood out. The end of the match was horrible and to be honest I wish Joe Cole and Milner were booked for time wasting like that, as I said before that's not football it's just being a dick.

If England don't get their act together they will be knocked out very very quickly, that is something you can't deny. Only a "Fanboy" would say something like Real fans would be relieved, your not a real fan if you can't see something that's right infront of you.

And naturally being a England supporter I want them to win the World Cup, but as they are playing now it's not going to happen. They aren't playing good matches they're scrapping through.
Whilst this may be "enough" for some, if the match isn't played well by the entire team resulting in them just about scraping through then they really don't deserve to win.
England is supposed to be a World Class team and so far I haven't seen anything from them worthy of that title (in this World Cup).

A result is a result but that doesn't mean it's a good one.

Bring 'em on! Germany dont look anything special.

heh i was actually rooting on germany today. I didn't want the US to face Germany in the round of 16. I like our chances vs Ghana this weekend

But, if your own team isn't even in the World Cup (Canada), you have no choicee.
That's why I'm rooting for England.

I would have thought that the USA would have been your team of choice

England played much better today. But they could hardly have played any worse than against Algeria!! We got very lucky with that 3-in-1 attempt could have easily been a goal.
Terry deserves an OBE for his defensive efforts!
At least we're attacking the goal again but we're going to have to seriously up our game in the next round.
Ghana are a great side & played really well against Germany - I'd love to see England play like that.
Rooney needs to start the next match on the bench - then maybe when he comes on he'll actually want the ball!! :teach:

I would've liked to have seen Shawn Wright-Phillips get a look in too! He's not afraid to run at defenders and thats what we need if we're going to get any further in the competition.

Hardly, he committed two card worthy tackles in the first two minutes of the game, the card was just.
Right....any GOOD Referee gives either 1 or 2 warnings then starts to bring the cards out.
Sarcasm or not? Kaka got a red for even less, live with it! Johnson isn't critical to England winning.

Odd assumption to think that if everyone here choose to speak english, must be from England or USA. I get you point that you say USA. But england isn't much larger than germany or france you know.

I thought we did ok today, obviously much better than the first two games, I know that's not saying much but it was a much higher tempo and really we should of had a hat full, so at least we did create chances. Also I didn't mind them trying to run the clock down, keep the ball in the opposition half, don't give the other team a chance to score and by that time I was desperate for the match finish and get to last 16.
Rooney still looks off the pace and Lampard was pretty rubbish as usual for England and that's coming from a Chelsea fan. I don't why but England never seem to play that well against the so called smaller teams.
But least it's not all doom and gloom, so bring on the Germans, I sure the last time we played them we beat them 2-1, it made 5 out 5 for Fabio so why not again.

Eventhough im from germany... have fun defeating us you english people :D
we totally suckt tonight xD
